Espero que estén todos muy bien y que tengan un gran fin de semana. Hoy les voy a enseñar unas fotos de un acto cultural que hubo en la escuela donde estoy trabajando. Era un acto que se llamaba Pueblo Guaiquerí, que era el grupo de indígenas que habitaban la isla hace muchos años.

En el acto se hizo un homenaje a las raíces del pueblo Guaiquerí, mostrando su vestimenta, parte de lo que era el arte, como la elaboración de hamacas y chinchorros, con la exposición de una señora que aún los hace con las técnicas que usaban los indígenas.

También había muestras de la artesanía, además de la carpintería de ribera, con algunas réplicas de barcos y botes.

Fue una actividad muy bonita, sobre todo para que los niños sepan de dónde venimos y no olviden sus raíces. Espero que les hayan gustado las fotos.

I hope you are all very well and have a great weekend. Today I'm going to show you some pictures of a cultural act that there was in the school where I'm working. It was an act that was called Pueblo Guaiquerí, which was the group of indigenous people that inhabited the island many years ago.

The event was a tribute to the roots of the Guaiquerí people, showing their clothing, part of what was the art, such as the elaboration of hammocks and chinchorros, with the exhibition of a lady who still makes them with the techniques used by the indigenous people.

There were also samples of handicrafts, in addition to carpentry, with some replicas of ships and boats.

It was a very nice activity, especially for the children to know where we come from and not to forget their roots. I hope you liked the pictures.
