Edmund Gorge in Bohemian Switzerland

Hello everyone!

This post is the second part of the stop in Hrensko and it is actually about the area next to it. From the beginning, the destination was the Edmund Gorge in Bohemian Switzerland. It is a deep canyon carved by the Kamienica River. It is a very popular and attractive destination in this region. Our hiking trip started in the aforementioned Hrensko and ended in the town of Mezna.

Ten post to druga część z przystanku w miejscowości Hrensko i właściwie dotyczy on terenu obok niej. Od początku celem zatrzymania się tam był Wąwóz Edmunda w Czeskiej Szwajcarii. Jest to głęboki kanion wydrążony przez rzekę Kamienica. Jest to bardzo popularny i atrakcyjny cel podróży w tym regionie. Nasza piesza wyprawa zaczynała się we wspomnianym Hrensko a kończyła w miejscowości Mezna.

The first stage of the trip was along the Kamienica River, which in some places was a mountain stream, and in others a quiet river.

Pierwszy etap wycieczki był wzdłuż rzeki Kamienica, która w niektórych miejscach była górskim potokiem, a w innych spokojną rzeczką.

As the route ran through the gorge, apart from the river, there were also high rocks. All among the trees so the walk was pleasant.

Ponieważ trasa przebiegała przez wąwóz to poza rzeką były również wysokie skały. Wszystko wśród drzew, więc spacer był przyjemny.

Sometimes the trail led through tunnels carved into the rocks. They were short enough to do without a flashlight.

Czasami szlak prowadził przez tunele wydrążone w skałach. Były na tyle krótkie aby można było obejść się bez latarki.

It is a very popular tourist route also among families with children, so there was a place with a bench to rest.

Jest to trasa bardzo popularna turystycznie również wśród rodzin z dziećmi, więc nie mogło zabraknąć miejsca z ławką do odpoczynku.

Here we are approaching the end of the first stage.

Tutaj zbliżamy się do końca pierwszego etapu.

Behind these cascades, the road from the hiking trail will turn into a water trail.

Za tymi kaskadami dalsza droga ze szlaku pieszego zamieni się na szlak wodny.

After getting to the beginning of the boat, I can admire the landscape and take some photos.

Po wejściu na początek łódki mogę podziwiać krajobraz i zrobić jakieś zdjęcia.

During this trip, the raftsmen tell various stories about this gorge as well as about the characters from the above photos.

Flisacy podczas tej wycieczki opowiadają różne historyjki dotyczące tego wąwozu jak i o postaciach z powyższych zdjęć.

On the way, we can admire various rock formations.

Po drodze możemy podziwiać różne formacje skalne.

We also pass an artificial waterfall, which is also part of the raftsmen's stories.

Mijamy także sztuczny wodospad, który również jest częścią opowieści flisaków.

Raftsmen do the route with tourists both ways, so there are different options to plan your tour of this canyon. For example, you can use the restaurant menu here and return by the same route.

Flisacy pokonują trasę z turystami w obie strony, więc są różne opcje na zaplanowanie zwiedzania tego kanionu. Można np tutaj skorzystać z menu restauracji i wrócić tą samą trasą.

Similar frames can be found among many photographers, both amateurs and professionals.

Podobne kadry możemy spotkać wśród wielu fotografów zarówno amatorów jak i profesjonalistów.

Of course, instead of returning along the same route, we continued our hiking trail.

My oczywiście zamiast wracać tą samą trasą, ruszyliśmy dalej pieszym szlakiem.

Although it is not in the pictures, at one point it was possible to choose a trail that we could go further. We chose the uphill route to the town of Mezna.

Chociaż nie ma tego na zdjęciach, to w pewnym momencie była możliwość wyboru szlaku, którym mogliśmy pójść dalej. Wybraliśmy trasę pod górę do miejscowości Mezna.

After reaching the top, we found restaurants where we had a cold beer. After him, we returned with the last bus to Hrensko.
The whole trip back took us about 3 hours. I recommend.

Po dotarciu na górę znaleźliśmy restauracje, gdzie napiliśmy się zimnego piwa. Po nim wróciliśmy ostatnim autobusem do Hrenska.
Cała trasa z powrotem zajęła nam około 3 godzin. Polecam.
