Gondolas in Venice

Hello everyone!

I guess everyone associates Venice with two things: canals and gondolas floating on them. A couple riding in a gondola is also a common romantic motif in films. In the past, these boats were used for urban transport, now they are mainly used to transport tourists. I didn't have the opportunity to sail on such a boat myself, but I took a few photos in various parts of the old town as souvenirs.

Chyba każdemu Wenecja kojarzy się z dwiema rzeczami, kanałami oraz gondolami po nich pływającymi. Para płynąca gondolą to również częsty motyw romantyczny w filmach. Dawniej te łodzie służyły do transportu miejskiego, obecnie służą głównie do transportu turystów. Sam nie miałem okazji przepłynąć się taką łodzią, natomiast wykonałem na pamiątkę kilka zdjęć w różnych częściach starego miasta.

Gondolas travel both through small canals and the main Grand Canal. The photo above and several below show gondolas floating on the Grand Canal and buildings on the canal.

Gondole pływają zarówno małymi kanałami jak i głównym Grand Canal. Zdjęcie powyżej oraz kilka poniżej prezentują gondole pływające po Grand Canal oraz budynki nad tym kanałem.

According to the technical data, the gondola is usually less than 11 meters long and 1.42 meters wide. The length of the oar is 4.2 m.

Z danych technicznych, gondola zazwyczaj ma niecałe 11 metrów długości oraz 1,42 szerokości. Natomiast długość wiosła to 4,2 m.

The streets between the buildings are also filled with tourists. Many of them stop at various piers to take a souvenir photo.

Również uliczki między budynkami są zapełnione turystami. Sporo z nich zatrzymuje się na różnych pomostach aby zrobić sobie pamiatkowe zdjęcie.
