In order to win the battles and dominate the battle in Splinterlands, it is very important to analyze the opponent well and to team up with a powerful strategy. I usually strategize according to my opponent, and when I can do that, I can win many battles, even the toughest ones. In order to strategize according to the opponent, I review the last 5 battles of the opposing player and this guides me to determine a more powerful strategy.

I will share two my battles below and talk about how I strategize according to the opponent, I hope you like it.

BATTLE 1

Battle Ruleset
Close Range
Tis but Scratches
Only Fire, Life and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 25

  • Close Range Ruleset means Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
  • Tis but Scratches Ruleset means all Monsters have the Cripple ability.

Cripple Ability : Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player and was almost certain that the opposing player would prefer Lorna Shine as the Summoner and Monsters with the Sneak Ability in this battle. Lorna Shine is a Summoner that gives ** the Divine Shield Ability** to all friendly monsters. And Monsters with Sneak Ability can be very effective in battles. Honestly, this is a strategy that works really well, and when a Monster with the Inspire Ability is added to the team, it's really hard to deal with such a strategy. So I needed a much better strategy to win this battle. Frankly, I was going to beat the opponent with the opponent's strategy in this battle.

I put Djinn Chwala with Thorns Ability in the last position on my team. And I added Dax Paragon with Amplify Ability to my team. Djinn Chwala does back damage to the attacker when hit with a Melee Attack because Djinn Chwala had the Thorns Ability. And because Dax Paragon has the Amplify Ability, he increases Thorns damage by 1. In this way, it would be much easier to destroy the Sneak Monsters on the opposing team. I also added Adelade Brightwing with the Resurrect Ability and the Repair Ability to my team, making my strategy much more powerful. Frankly, opponents who preferred Sneak Monsters had little chance of success against this strategy, so I prefer this strategy when I fight against Sneak Monsters.

  • Divine Shield Ability : The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.
  • Inspire Ability : Gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack.
  • Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker.
  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
  • Repair Ability : Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.

As I guessed, the opposing player preferred Monsters with Sneak Ability in this battle. And in this battle, they were never attacked, only destroyed by back damage. In a way, they destroyed themselves with their own attacks.

Sneak Monsters took almost as much damage back as damage they had done to Djinn Chwala. This made it very easy to destroy them. Honestly, my strategy was simple but quite impressive, the fact that I determined strategy according to the opponent's strategy in this battle gave my team an advantage and my team managed to win a very difficult battle.

battle15.png

The battle lasted 5 rounds and only one monster was destroyed in my team while all monsters were destroyed on the opposing team. My strategy worked well in this battle, and this battle has clearly shown that strategizing according to the opponent is very effective in battles. But to be honest, if the opposing player had teamed up with a different strategy, they could have won this battle very easily. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and quite challenging battle from the battle link, I hope you like it.

By the way, Monsters with Sneak Ability can be very effective in battles when used with a good strategy, especially if I feel that the opposing team's backline is too powerful, I never hesitate to use Sneak Monsters, I will explain this in my next battle.

BATTLE 2

Battle Ruleset
Standard
Only Earth, Life, Death and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 33

  • Standard Ruleset means no modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player and I could guess that the opposing player would prefer the Scarred Llama Mage and Kron the Undying combo in this battle. I think Scarred Llama Mage and Kron the Undying combo is one of the best combos. It's really hard to deal with and defeat them especially when Kron the Undying is the last monster left. That's why Kron the Undying must be destroyed before the last monster is left, which is why I preferred Monsters with the Sneak Ability in this battle. It's pretty easy to destroy the opposing team's backline with Monsters with the Sneak Ability when used with good strategy. But of course, I also needed to put up a powerful defense against Magic Attackers on the front line.

I put Imperial Knight with the Void Armor Ability in the first position. And I put Adelade Brightwing with the Resurrect Ability and the Repair Ability in the second position. I thought it would be quite difficult for the opposing team to destroy the Imperial Knight thanks to Adelade Brightwing. And I added 4 Monsters with Sneak Ability to my team. And I chose Daria Dragonscale as the Summoner so that Sneak Monsters can attack targets more powerfully. Daria Dragonscale gives +1 Melee Attack to all friendly Melee Attack Monsters.

  • Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
  • Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
  • Repair Ability : Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.

From the first round, Sneak Monsters attacked the opposing team's last position quite effectively and brutally. Kron the Undying was so helpless against their attack and was destroyed at the beginning of the second round. Not only Kron the Undying, but all the monsters on the opposing team were so helpless against their brutal attack. In a battle like this, Adelade Brightwing didn't even need to use her Resurrect Ability. To be honest, I didn't expect this battle to be this easy, my team won it pretty easily thanks to Monsters with the Sneak Ability.

battle24.png

The battle lasted only 4 rounds, at the end of the battle all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed while all the monsters on my team were still alive. My strategy worked pretty well in this battle, and my team won a pretty tough battle pretty easily. I recommend you to watch this great battle from the battle link and you can see how effective monsters with Sneak Ability are in battles.

BATTLE RESULTS

battle2results.png

There were Sneak Monsters in both of the above battles, they failed in the first battle but put up a great fight in the second battle. This clearly showed how effective and important the strategy was in battle. Indeed, strategizing according to the opponent works in many battles and gives the team a huge advantage. In order to determine the strategy according to the opponent, it is necessary to review the last 5 battles of the opponent player well. In short, I think strategy is as important as having powerful cards in battles. And when I can team up with a good strategy according to the opponent, I can win many battles, even the most difficult ones. That's why I attach great importance to strategy in battles. I am very curious about your comments about the above battles and your own strategies, I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
