Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Explosive Weaponry Ruleset

avatar

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset and one of my strategies that works best in this ruleset. I hope it will be useful for you.

Explosive Weaponry

In battles with the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, all Monsters gain the Blast Ability. And Monster with the Blast Ability does additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage divided by 2, rounded up.

Monsters with the Reflection Shield Ability do not take damage from Blast. That's why, in battles with the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, I make sure to add a Monster with the Reflection Shield Ability to my lineup to absorb blast damage and protect my team's backline. Additionally, including a Monster with the Taunt Ability in your lineup can give your team an advantage and prevent your strategy from being disrupted by your opponents. In addition, including abilites such as Snipe and Opportunity Abilites that can target your opponent's backline in your linup can provide a great advantage to your team because a single hit from them can cause damage to 3 monsters at once.

Let's examine what I explained above in a battle.

Battle Ruleset

  • Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.

Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

The battle only had the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, and all monsters in this battle would have the Blast Ability.

First of all, I will put Agor Longtail with Taunt Ability, Flying Ability and Void Armor Ability in the first position. Agor Longtail is one of the dragons that can defend well against all monsters with its abilities, and all enemy monsters will struggle to destroy it first (Except for those with the Scattershot Ability). Thanks to the Reflection Shield Ability, blast damage will be absorbed and my team's backline will be protected. And to make Agor Longtail more difficult to destroy, I will include Repair and Tank Heal Abilities in my lineup. And I will add Captain Katie, who has Snipe Ability and Bloodlust Ability, to my team, and if there is no Monster with Taunt Ability in the opposing team, Captain Katie's attacks will be very effective in this battle.

The continuation of the strategy and my team's lineup is as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : HELIOS MATRIARCH

Helios Matriarch is a Dragon Summoner that allows the use of one additional Gladiator card, and gives +1 speed to all friendly monsters. I can say that I chose Helios Matriarch so that I could use my Captain Katie and Agor Longtail cards. Additionally, thanks to Helios Matriarch, all friendly monsters will have +1 speed.

Position 1: AGOR LONGTAIL

Agor Longtail is a Dragon that can attack the target with both Magic Attacks and Melee Attacks, and has Flying Ability, Taunt Ability, and Void Armor Ability at level 2. Agor Longtail is a dragon that can be very effective in this type of battle, and all enemy monsters would struggle to destroy it first. Agor Longtail is already a difficult dragon to destroy, and I will use Tank Heal and Repair Abilities to make it more difficult to destroy. I will also include the Resurrect Ability in my lineup to bring it back to life in case it is destroyed. And I put Agor Longtail in the first position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Taunt Ability : All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).
  • Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health.

Position 2: CORSAIR BOSUN

Corsair Bosun is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Reflection Shield Ability and Reach Ability from level 1. I put the Corsair Bosun in the second position and since it has the Reach Ability, it can attack from the second position. And since it has the Reflection Shield Ability, it would absorb the blast damage and protect my team's backline. The fact that Corsair Bosun can attack with 4 melee attacks from the second position and has the Reflection Shield Ability provides a great advantage in battles with the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.

  • Reach Ability : Melee attack Units with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.
  • Reflection Shield Ability : This Unit doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.

Position 3: DJINN RENOVA

Djinn Renova is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Strengthen Abiliy and Triage Ability at level 4. Djinn Renova would give +1 health to all friendly monsters, and if my team's backline took damage, it would heal a third of max health of the Monster that took the most damage. Additionally, Djinn Renova can attack the target with 3 magic attacks. I put Djinn Renova in the third position.

  • Strengthen Abiliy : All friendly Units have their Health increased by 1.
  • Triage Ability : Heals the friendly back-line Unit that has taken the most damage by a third of max health.

Position 4: CAPTAIN KATIE

Captain Katie is a Life Gladiator that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Snipe Abiliy and Bloodlust Ability from level 1. In addition to its abilities, Captain Katie can be much more effective in battles when it has the Blast Ability, so it is one of the Gladiators that can be very effective in battles with the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset. If the opposing team does not have a monster with the Taunt Ability , it will target the first monster with ranged, magic, or no attack that is not in the first position. This meant that when it got the chance, it could damage 3 monsters with one hit.

  • Snipe Abiliy : Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks.
  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.

Position 5: ADELADE BRIGHTWING

Adelade Brightwing is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Flying Ability, Repair Ability and Resurrect Ability at level 2. I believed that Adelade Brightwing would be very useful to the team in this battle with its abilities, especially Repair Ability and Resurrect Ability. Once Agor Longtail was destroyed, the Resurrect Ability would be able to bring it back to life with 1 health. Additionally, the Repair Ability would restore a third of max armor to the friendly monster whose armor has taken the most damage And I put Adelade Brightwing in the fifth position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Repair Ability : Restores a third of max armor to the friendly Unit whose armor has taken the most damage.
  • Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Unit dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.

Position 6: VENARI CRYSTALSMITH

Venari Crystalsmith is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Ranged Attacks and has Tank Heal Ability from level 1. The Tank Heal Ability restores a third of max health to the monster in the first position each round, which makes it much more difficult to destroy the monster in the first position. And I put Venari Crystalsmith in the last position.

  • Tank Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to the Unit in the first position each round.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

Although the opposing team was quite powerful, I was very surprised that they did not have a Monster with the Reflection Shield Ability, but on the other hand, I was very happy for my team that they did not have it. Also, the opposing team did not have a Monster with the Taunt Ability, which made it clear at the beginning of the battle that my team would win this battle. In battles with the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, your chances of winning the battle are greatly reduced, especially if you do not use the Reflection Shield Ability.

Round 1

In the first round, all monsters with attacks hit their targets, and all monsters except Captain Katie attacked the monster in the first position. Captain Katie hit Supply Runner, causing both it and Silent Sha-vi and Lira the Dark to take additional damage. Since Lira the Dark had the Snire Ability, it removed Agor Longtail's Flying Ability and no enemy monsters could miss Agor Longtail. Additionally, since it had the Giant Killer Ability, Djinn Muirat dealt 6 damage to -Agor Longtail.

Round 2

In the second round, all the monsters with attacks hit their targets. It was surprising for me that all the enemy monsters hit Agor Longtail, but the high speed of the monsters on the opposing team made them advantageous in this regard. On the other hand, the fact that the opposing team did not have a monster with the Reflection Shield Ability caused them to take serious damage. And on the opposing team, Cursed Windeku and Silent Sha-vi were destroyed, while Supply Runner and Lira the Dark's health was reduced. And even though the opposing team managed to destroy Agor Longtail, the Resurrect Ability brought it back to life with 1 health, which meant that they had to struggle to destroy Agor Longtail again.

Round 3

At the beginning of the third round, Harklaw, Supply Runner and Lira the Dark were easily destroyed with the damage they took and the effect of blast damage, and only Djinn Muirat survived in the opposing team. Even though the Level 3 Djinn Muirat was quite powerful, it had no chance of winning this battle alone. Even though it tried to deal 6 damage to Agor Longtail with each attack, these attacks would never be successful because Agor Longtail had the Void Armor Ability and my team had a monster with the Repair Ability and a Monster with the Reflection Shield Ability in the second position. And at the end of the third round, Djinn Muirat only had 1 health left, which meant that it would be destroyed in the next round.

Round 4

And at the beginning of the fourth round, Venari Crystalsmith destroyed Djinn Muirat and my team was able to win this very tough battle quite easily.

The battle lasted 4 rounds, and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, while all the monsters on my team were still alive. If you use Taunt Ability in the first position and Reflection Shield Ability in the second position, it will prevent your team's backline from taking damage until the Monster with the Taunt Ability is destroyed. And if you can prevent the Monster with Taunt Ability from being destroyed, you will win the battle quite easily, which was a good example in the above battle. Meanwhile, Tank Heal and Repair Abilities will be of great help to you to prevent the destruction of a Monster like Agor Longtail, which has the Taunt Ability. And if you include the Resurrect Ability in your lineup, you can bring it back to life with 1 health in case it is destroyed, which is very useful as seen in the battle above. I recommend you to watch this very interesting and challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
