Let Your Opponents Suffer, But Don't Let Your Team Suffer | Amazing Battle | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

Of course, it is very important to have a powerful deck in battles in the SplInterlands, but I think it is also very important to have a powerful strategy. With a good strategy, you have the chance to defeat even your most powerful opponents, so I attach great importance to strategy in battles. In this article, I will talk about Affliction Ability and Cleanse Ability, which I include in many of my strategies and can greatly help me win in some battles.

Affliction Ability

When Monsters with the Affliction Ability hit a target, it has a 50% chance to inflict Pain, causing the target to be unable to heal. Therefore, the Affliction Ability is a killer of healing, so I place great emphasis on incorporating this ability into my strategy, especially against opponents using Tank Heal, Heal, or Triage Abilities. Affliction Ability is an ability that allows opponents to afflict. There are 28 cards with the Affliction Ability in the Splinterlands.

  • Affliction Ability : When this Unit hits a target, it has a 50% chance to inflict Pain, causing the target to be unable to heal.

Cleanse Ability

Many of my opponents, like me, attach importance to using the Affliction Ability, and I include the Cleanse Ability in my strategy to eliminate the effect of the Affliction Ability. Monsters with the Cleanse Ability remove all negative effects on the first position Monster on the friendly team. So with the Cleanse Ability, I don't let it afflict. In short, the Cleanse Ability prevents my strategy of healing the Monster in the first position from being disrupted. There are 17 cards with the Cleanse Ability in Splinterlands, one of which is a Summoner.

  • Cleanse Ability : Removes all negative effects on the first position Unit on the friendly team.

Let's examine the Affliction Ability and the Cleanse Ability in a battle.

Battle Ruleset

  • Keep Your Distance: Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
  • Close Range: Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opposing player, I predicted that the opposing player would prefer Magic Attack Monsters. Frankly, my chances of winning this battle with Ranged Attack Monsters were very low, but I had a better chance of winning this battle with Magic Attack Monsters, so I preferred Magic Attack Monsters.

I put Monsters with Void Ability in the first two positions because Void Ability reduces damage from Magic attacks by 50%. And I added a Monster with the Tank Heal Ability to my team, Monsters with the Tank Heal Ability restore a third of max health to the Monster in the first position each round. In this way, it would be very difficult for magic attackers to destroy the Monster with Void Ability. I

I had no doubt that the opposing player would have a similar strategy. In this battle, Affliction Ability could disrupt all balances, so I added Riverboat Captain with Affliction Ability to my team. However, the opposing team might also have a Monster with the Affliction Ability, and in order not to let the Affliction Ability disrupt my strategy, I added River Nymph with Cleanse Ability to my team. By the way, I would like to say that I attach great importance to putting the Monster with the Cleanse Ability in front of the Monster with the Tank Heal Ability, because it is very important for the Cleanse Ability to work before healing, otherwise the healing will not occur.

I attach great importance to including Void Ability, Tank Heal Ability, Affliction Ability and Cleanse Ability in my lineup in such battles, they are really effective in such battles and can greatly help me win.

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was very good and the opposing team's attack power was almost twice as much as my team's. Additionally, all monsters on the opposing team had Void Ability. In short, it would have been impossible for me to win this battle if I had not included the Affliction Ability and Cleanse Ability in my lineup.

At the end of the second round, Goblin Psychic inflicted pain on Baakjira.

Luckily, my team has River Nymph with the Cleanse Ability. She removed all negative effects on Baakjira.

In the third round, Riverboat Captain applied pain to Mycelic Slipspawn. However, the opposing team did not have any monsters with the Cleanse Ability, which meant that the affliction could not be removed. Frankly, if the opposing team had a Monster with the Cleanse Ability, the opposing team would win this battle very easily because the opposing team was much more powerful.

The battle was really competitive and very tough, so it lasted 11 rounds. Even though the opposing team was more powerful, my team managed to win this battle. It was noteworthy that at the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 5 monsters in my team were still alive and their health was the same as when they started the battle. This battle is one of the best examples that clearly shows how effective the Affliction Ability and Cleanse Ability are in battles. That's why I attach great importance to using both ability in such battles.
