Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will talk about some features of the Mycelic Slipspawn card, and I will also talk about an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.

Mycelic Slipspawn is a Rare Card in Earth Unit and belongs to the Chaos edition and costs 9 mana. Mycelic Slipspawn is a Monster that can attack the target with Magic attacks and has Taunt Ability at level 1, Forcefield Ability at level 4, and Slow Ability at level 8.

  • Taunt Ability : All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).
  • Forcefield Ability : This Unit takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5 or higher.
  • Slow Ability : Reduces the Speed of all enemy Units by 1.

I can say that Mycelic Slipspawn is my most preferred card among the cards with the Taunt Ability, especially since it has the Forcefield Ability. Since it has the Taunt Ability, all enemy monsters target it first, and since it has the Forcefield Ability, it takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5 or higher. I use the Forcefield Ability especially against monsters with high attack power of 5 and above, and it really works very well, which I will exemplify in the battle below.

There are only 8 cards with the Forcefield Ability in Splinterlands. However, I can say that I prefer those with Taunt Ability because Taunt Ability makes my strategy work more stable. Let's examine this in a battle.

BATTLE

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

Battle Ruleset

  • Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
  • What Doesn’t Kill You: All Monsters have the Enrage ability.

Snipe Ability : Targets the first enemy Unit with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that is not in the first position with Ranged or Magic attacks.
Enrage Ability : This unit has 50% bonus Melee attack and Speed when not at full health.

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opposing player, I saw that the opposing player had very powerful cards compared to my deck. And I knew I would be fighting against max level cards in this battle. According to the rulesets of the battle, all monsters in this battle would have the Snipe Ability and the Enrage Ability.

And I could predict that all the monsters in the opposing team would have high attack power, and also when I imagined they would have the Enrage Ability, to be honest there was no way I could win this battle if I didn't have the Mycelic Slipspawn card. That's why I added Mycelic Slipspawn to my team without hesitation because it had both the Taunt Ability and the Forcefield Ability. The monsters in the opposing team's backline would first struggle to destroy it, and it would not be easy to destroy it with 5 or more attacks.

Even though the attacks of the monsters on the opposing team were incredibly high, they could only deal 1 damage to Mycelic Slipspawn. It is unbelievable that a Monster like Mordeus could only deal 1 damage to it. It was very difficult for monsters that did not have the Forcefield Ability to survive against these attacks, so I love using the Forcefield Ability in such battles. And when we look at the opponent team's lineup, all cards are at max level and thanks to the Forcefield Ability, I managed to win this very difficult battle.

BATTLE RESULTS

Although the battle lasted 5 rounds, it was incredible that Mycelic Slipspawn was still alive at the end of the battle and 4 monsters on my team were still alive. If the opposing team did not have Immolation or if its attack power was 5 or above, Mycelic Slipspawn's health would be higher at the end of the battle. Also, if it didn't have the Blast Ability, Uraeus would not have been destroyed. But it's still okay, it was unbelievable to win such a battle against such a team and if I remember correctly, this battle was my most interesting battle so far.

To be honest, there was no way I could win this fight without Mycelic Slipspawn, so I was very lucky to have Mycelic Slipspawn in my deck and add it to my team. Mycelic Slipspawn's having both the Taunt Ability and the Forcefield Ability helped me win this battle, just having the Forcefield Ability would not have helped me win this battle. Therefore, it is a great advantage to use Cards with Taunt Ability and Forcefield Ability in such battles, and in Splinterlands there are only level 4 Mycelic Slipspawn and level 6 Night Ghoul cards with these two abilities.

By the way, I would like to say that Mycelic Slipspawn cannot dodge many attacks, so it is a monster that can be easily destroyed with attack power of 4 or lower, but its high health is another advantage.

I would also like to say that the other card I used the most against powerful teams was Katrelba Gobson, and as seen in the battle above, she destroyed almost all the enemies. Having the Double Strike Ability and Bloodlust Ability makes her very effective in battles, and as the battle goes on, and especially as she destroys the enemies, she becomes much more dangerous for the enemies. The battle above was one of the best examples of this.

What do you think about the Mycelic Slipspawn card and the battle? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
