Go Hard Or Go home

Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog once again as I talk about two words that have caused a lot of controversies. In footballing terms, a lot of you will understand what I mean. Talent or Hardwork? These are the two words that cause decided opinions among footballing fans. So let's define the two terms in my own opinion.

Firstly, I think both teams work hand in hand with each other. Don't get me wrong, I believe one cannot leave without the other actually but one of these terms in my opinion is superior.

Talent can be called a gift. Something you are soo good at effortlessly. Hard work on the other hand is passion. Something you like and are willing to go hard for it regardless of it being a gift.

Let me explain my two scenarios.

There was this movie I was watching the other time titled gifted hands. Now this movie is about a single mother and her two sons. Her two sons don't seem to do well in school but don't give a hoot about it. Their mother on the other hand didn't have the chance to go to school but then she wants the best for her children. Even though life is hard on her she still manages to put up a smile for her children each day she gets back from work.

Immediately she gets back from work the first thing she notices are her two sons glued to the TV set watching television and each time they are either watching a movie or a comedy series. She doesn't like what is happening and tries to find a solution. She makes new rules for the children which they do not like but they have to go by.

Her first rule is that each day they come back from school the first thing is to do their homework. The next is for them to start watching educational programs. The third is that each week they have to go to the library and look for a storybook which they have to finish within a certain time. The storybook helps them as it helps unfolds one of the kids' potentials. This is where the story of the gifted hands' Doctor comes from. The movie is a real-life story which was acted on.

Now here are the things to learn. At first, the guy who turned into a brilliant surgeon had to work hard for it. At first, he was branded as the guy who knew nothing in class but his potential was hidden, he needed a push which came from his mom. His mom pressured him into learning how to read and all that. This story is based on hard work but I believe that his talent was hidden deep inside him and without the hard work, it would have never shown.

So all in all I believe in hard work. I believe when there is talent without hard work it can only take you far but not too far. But when you add passion and hard work to it the sky will be your limit. It is great to have passion for what you love, this makes you work hard for it.
