Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. This season has been a really good gaming season for me. I’ve been making steady progress and well all I can say is every day I keep on learning new strategies to help better my game. A few days ago I made it into Gold III, I was over the roof for this achievement. It was my first time in gold so the feeling was overwhelming.

Gold is not what I aim for long term but champion. Getting to champion is going to be damn hard but I know the longer I play I’ll get to better my cards and sooner or later I’ll be there. Currently, I’ve made progress and am in gold I. I don’t know if I would have made it to gold sooner if I had been actively gaming these last 3 days.

Now I aim to get into at least Diamond III before this season ends. It’s been exciting and if I don’t get there this season I wouldn’t be sad.

This is an entry to the Battle Mage weekly contest.

This week the Ruleset for this one is Explose weaponry. What this means is that all monsters have the blast ability. What this blast ability means is when a card attacks another card all cards which are adjacent to the attacked card receive damage as well.

So for this type of game, I always make sure to go in for martyr cards. People who have probably read my spl blogs for a while now would have predicted this kind of lineup for me.

I wouldn’t say this is my best line but because the mana was so little I had to go with this one. The game mana was as low as 16. When this happens even the summoner choice affects the type of cards you’ll choose.

So for the summoner, I went for a summoner which I rarely use( Chuul Jujinchi). This is a summoner that grants the use of life cards and earth cards together. I didn’t go for it because I wanted to combine earth and life cards; I went in for it because it has a mana which is 3. I don’t also have life summoners which have a mana of 3 even though I wanted to use life cards.

So for my first card, I went in for Drybone barbarian. This is a card that I’ve grown to even appreciate more and I never fail to choose it each time I go in for life cards. It was even the main reason why I went in for life cards.

Next on the line was my martyr wonder (venery marksrat). And the last was Gargova scrapper; a melee card which in all honesty has nothing to do with the lineup.

The first attack was made by my opponent on barbarian and I must say it was just what u wanted. This attack did a little damage to the barbarian and vanquished the venari marksrat. With this, it meant increased stats for the barbarian. This took barbarians' melee to 8 with an enraged ability triggered.

It attacked and killed my opponent's first card with its first hit. Well, that attack followed through and killed my opponent's second card which is a melee card and was meant to attack.

His first position card was now a range card which doesn’t attack in the first position so it was useless. With an attack from the barbarian, I was able to kill his second card with the blast ability.

So sorry I was wrong lol. I thought his first card couldn’t attack but it just did. Wow, I didn’t even know it had the close-range ability lol.

Well, the barbarian took it as an offence and attacked back and was able to vanquish it was ease alongside his last position card.

With the blast ability, it was an easy win for me. Without the blast ability, the game could have strongly gone in the favour of my opponent and I know it.
