Good Food, Good Mood, Happy Oldies: Gathering Up Ingredients From The Yard For Fish and Vegetable Dish -Fresh and Pretty

I promised last night that I will make Mommy F fish soup with veggies. She complained while we're having dinner that the fried fish is really hard to eat. It was fried during lunch so it is really become like of a jerky and I fried it really crispy. When I ate it, it really hard to chew so I understand MOm.

And so this morning, I visit the yard and checked the sweet potato leaves on the ground. I ready a small stainless bowl to put my veggies and had my quick quest on the yard. The two cuties decides to accompany me -wait, its more like, to interrupt me, lol. Luckily, there's a lot of sweet potato leaves on different sides if our yard. All I have to do is just pick

And so, here's our first ingredient for our fish soup, a sweet potato leaves. I actually picked just the young ones so that it is easier to cook

I spotted some Alugbati next to the sweet potato leaves and I really want to pick some as well, but I already planned to harvest Malunggay so I pick it, the dish may become too greeny and make my moms blood surge up, so I decided not to. But seriously, i not much of a fan of Alugbati as Ingredients, but I love it as a plant coz of its pretty color.

So next stop is here, in the Malunggay tree. We have two three of it by the way. This one is still very young. Mama planted it and it is a branch from the old Malunggay we have. We didn't wait long for it to give us leaves like this.

And of course I also pick a few from the old Malunggay. I noticed that it is flowering now. Its fruits is actually so good in a fish soup. I'm already looking forward for it.

And so, here our fresh ingredients. We have here sweet potato leaves, malunggay, three small onions, and the fish

And yes, the white water there is rice water. I'll use that for our fish and vegetable soup today.

I just put salt, msg, onions, fish and the rice water altogether in a pan. We'll just simmer them for a few minutes before putting the veggies

Before putting the veggies, I removed all the fish first because we don't want it to become a ground fish, lol. Also, I put first the Malunggay in there and let it cook for one minute before putting the sweet potato leaves

And it'a done! The veggies doesn't really take more time to be cooked. It is done after just a few minutes. And there we have it, a healy fish and vegetable soup using rice water. A healthy one that will surely warm anyone's stomach and heart.
