Good Times and Collected Moments on a Lovely Sunday: My Chicken Adobo and My Lil Brother's "Pasalubong" with My Favorite

Despite sleeping late last night, I still woke up early this morning. Well, actually, even though I sleep late, I still had enough sleep, glad I didn't experience headache. And maybe my "sleeping late" to me is actually not late to some haha. Like 10:30 pm, I'm still awake. I think I was able to sleep at 11. I still had 5 hrs of sleep. That's plenty enough to me already. I'll just make sure to sleep early tonight. Ehe

Anyways, we're scheduled to go to the market today. I have to buy Mommy F her viand, I also need to buy half sack of rice because our stock has 5 to 6 kilos left. I told Mom about it and immediately ready the money to for it. I noticed that they been eating more rice there days which is good but I also remind Mommy F that her blood sugar is kinda high today. I blame her after meal candies. Aigooo

And si, our first stop was in here, a shop where we can buy rice. I am actually thinking if getting the 55 or the 52. Both are suggested by the seller. I want to get the 52 or the Ordinary coz the seller said it is also a good kind of rice. But then, the 55 or the Special eme is actually quite nice too. And Mom told me to buy nice quality rice. In the end I got the Special eme. I cook it today and it's actually not bad. 25 kilos of that rice is 1300 pesos. Mommy F gave me 2000 so, good, good. └⁠|⁠∵⁠|⁠┐⁠♪

We also visit the wet market to buy her fish. I already planned to make soupy dish for Mommy F so when we get back home, I just visit the yard and picked Malunggay. I saw a Bunga of the Malunggay but I didn't pick it. I thought it's still too early to pick it.

Now, this is the main dish today though. I made Adobo, my style. And I started it by soaking the chicken in salt water. I thoroughly clean it too by removing all the slimy thing on its skin..

I also marinated the chicken for like 3 minutes only, I put soy sauce, vinegar, salt, msg, and lots of pepper

Now, on to cooking it...coz I want to be extra in this Adobo, I used salted margarine instead of regular oil to sautee it. I sautee the garlic and onion next, LOTS OF ONION! Nyommm

..and then, and then, putting the chicken including the liquid where we marinated it.

I then move the chicken into a casserole so that it can be cook nice and yummy. I also added two green siling taiwan as they call it. Yk, for a lil kick of spiciness

I only cook it for 8 minutes on high heat. Coz it is chilled chicken, for some reason, it easily get too mushy when I cook it more than that. So to make sure, I only cook it for 8, no, if I'll add the sauteeing and everything, that'd be 14 minutes. Yes, yes..

And coz its Chicken Adobo, I thought of making fried rice using the leftovers and I sautee it too with lots of onions. With the Adobo sauce, you can imagine how good it it with the fried rice. The Adobo is fatty and sour. And seriously, drumstick really is the best part of Chicken! Thats why its my favorite. Hihi. By the way, I also had Alamang as an Appetizer. Mama made it because she bought half kilo of pork fats in the market and she use it in the Alamang \⁠(⁠^⁠o⁠^⁠)⁠/.

And lemme just add this but my Lil bro arrived home today. He just have some papers he need to take care of, its for his plan on applying abroad for work. I hope he get it done tomorrow

And here's his take home for us, haha. Spanish bread he bought in some random bakery and my favorite Goldilocks Polvoron. And I picked just my favorite flavors. Hihihi
