Kokoy The Great, The Invincible Cat!

avatar

They are just "animals" to some, but to fur parents, they are a kid that is as lovable as a real kid and as cute as they are. They can be a little handful sometimes, but their cuteness and sweetness can compensate for that. They are still "our" babies that we love to spoil. Are you like that too? But how about when they get sick? Is your heart ready for it? Or are you in a panic too?

It's been four days since our Kokoy recovered from "Cat Flu." I just made that up. It is "Dog Flu" if it's referring to a dog. It is really sad to see him weak like that and not the usual Kokoy I know. The Kokoy who loves to mess around while I'm sweeping the floor, naughty and playful. I got so used to his mischievousness that when he got sick, I was like a super worried Mommy to his "Son." I'm not used to seeing him in that kind of state; weak, sad, and lifeless.

It all started when one morning he didn't show himself when I got out of the house to clean up the mess in front of Mom's store. It's strange because he already knows what time I usually get out of the house. But then he's not showing up. No Kokoy showed up when I started to sweep the floor, and no Kokoy showed up to follow the soft broom I used to sweep the dust on the floor. So, I got worried. I went to check on him at his usual spot where he sleeps, and there I saw him.

IMG20221023113818.jpg

He's still sleeping, and that is very unusual for me. So I called him and showed him the food container, but sadly, he didn't come closer to me. He just ignored me and then went back to sleep. I just let him because I know for sure when he feels hungry, he's the one who will come to me. For some reason, it happens yes. I know and feel that he really wants to eat, but he can't. He just continued meowing, like he's telling me he wants to eat but can't. So I gave him cat food.

But still, he doesn't want it. I noticed something dropped from his butthole when he turned his back to me, and when I checked, it looked like phlegm.I checked his eyes and I saw the mucus forming on the side of his eyes. He is really sick, I concluded. I told my Mom about it and she said to try first to feed Kokoy his favorite fish, which I did. But still, nah, he just ignored it after looking at it. He can't really eat. But I already know what to do because this kind of thing is not new to us.

It works for every pet that we own. For dogs or cats, it is effective for both. I bought vinegar from the store and put a few drops of it in a bowl. I transfer Kokoy to his sleeping bag and fill the bowl with vinegar.I got a handful of vinegar in my hand and put it on Kokoy's body. It is like I am bathing him using vinegar. I put enough, just a little bit to get him wet. I put a little in his body, in his throat, in his head, and after that I let him sleep again.

I did that 3 times for 3 days, and after that, on the 4th day, he finally got better and tried to eat one fish. only one, because I don't want him to eat and get indigestion later or what. On the same day, 3 hours after I fed him, he asked again for food, and this time I gave him plenty of it. They have water ready at the side, so they can drink water whenever they want. Actually, for those almost 4 days he didn't eat, he only drank plenty of water, and that let him survive. Right now, he is doing super okay.

I don't really know why and how Vinegar become effective to this kind of sickness of Cat so I decided to look at it on Google and I found this; Apple Cider Vinegar for Cats: Uses, Remedies, & Benefits. You can read the whole there for you to know if you don't have any idea yet about this. This is actually our natural medicines for our pets even before. All I know is vinegar works to people and so is to Pet, like cat and dogs.

You might be wondering why the hell he's in that tiny, little space. I too, are wondering why? Lol. He put himself in that situation so we can't really question him, lol. Or maybe because Mr. Sunny is giving him the light that he chose that spot, lol. Sunbathing y'all!

I'm handsome, I know hooman!

How about you? Have you tried vinegar as a home remedy for cough or fever in your pets? What's your best remedy if not? To be honest, we never brought our cat or dog to the vet because we knew we could just cure them here in our house. And it's been on ever since before. They still live for a long time, and I can attest to that. 😽

I only know about using ACV for fleas and ticks, but never for respiratory infections. Thankfully, he's okay na.
My cats are super healthy. Never pa silang nagkasakit. Yung mga dogs and pups ko lang. Prone to Parvo and Distemper eh. As for cough and fever, di sila nagkakasakit ng ganyan. Yung water kasi nila always may halong Dextrose powder then meron silang Tiki-tiki and some multivit na pinapainom sa kanila. 😅 Di sila complete ng vaccination eh. Medyo magastos kasi apat agad sila dumating sa bahay tapos biglang naging 9. But if grabe na, pumupunta na ako sa vet. I had a one doggo na naoperahan, another one na nahospitalize. Nabutas wallet ko nun but it's okay. Basta na feel nila na hindi sila pinabayaan and may nagmamahal sa kanila.

Ahhh, Parvo anf Distemper is thr worst enemy of the fur parents. They will really kill and thr chance of getting better is not that high. Ay maigi namam pala, ayos din yan na naka vitamins sila. Mas lalakas immune system nila, mas may laban sa mga sakit ba. Ay grabi, ang dami ng 9. Pero kaya naman ata alagaan lahat ay UwU. Baka may paratingin pa yan, anlaa lol.

And you are really, a loving fur parents. Salute to you for loving them like that ❤️❤️☺️✨

Glad Kokoy got better! Haven't tried the apple cider vinegar as treatment but others have recommended it as well. If it happens again and gets worst though, hope you can bring kokoy to the vet.
