My First Time Cooking "Dinuguan" and It's a Success! And my Reward? Mama and Mommy D's Approval!

Dinuguan is not a favorite dish for me but I like to eat it too. I love Mama and Mommy D's version of it. When Mama has her mini Carinderia, I can eat Dinuguan (Pork Blood Stew) whenever she decide to cook and sell it in some day. She can't sell the same dish every day coz you know how people like to eat different dish every day. But when Mama cook Dinuguan, I made sure to sneak some -ehermmmm, I mean to eat some and enjoy it with hot rice (• ▽ •;). You know, pouring the stew on top of the rice then happily eat it, perfecto \(^o^)/.
Back then, I thought Dinuguan is one complicated dish that is hard to cook, but after trying it once and got complimented by the Mama and Mommy D, I can say, I am so, so, so happy and it is not as hard as I thought it would be. There's no complicated ingredients too all are easy to gather. Not so sure if this is the proper way to cook Dinuguan, but this is my fams version and I enjoy cooking and eating it ♪ \(^ω^\ ). Seriously, it made me happy that I had to chance to cook this dish, for the first time y'all, hihihin←(>▽<)ノ

So lemme share how I cooked the Dinuguan, my Motherbels Version! Let's start with the Ingredients of course. We'll need the Pork, I bought that part with fat and skin. We'll also need Pig Blood which we got for free. And then chopped onion and garlic, ground pepper, salt, MSG, siling labuyo, vinegar, cooking oil, and water. For the Porky, I cut them thinly but kinda wider too, still in a bite sized though. Then I marinated it in salt, msg, vinegar, and siling labuyo, just a piece of it coz thats really spicy.

Now, its time to cook it! We'll start by sauteeing our chopper garlic and onion. Once they started to smell, we can then put our marinated pork meat then mix. Will just sautee them for few minutes before adding water in it. A cup or two cups, you can decide for that. The purpose of it was to cook the meat until they're tender. I cook the meat for 25 minutes in medium heat.

And so, 25 minutes later, we'll then add the Pig Blood. We pour them while slowly stirring them. Also, I asked Mama on this part, how do I know if the pork blood is already cooked and she said when their color turns brownish. But to make sure, I cooked them more for another 8 minutes haha ¯\(ツ)/¯

And its done! Smooth and easy. Ehe. I asked Mama to try it immediately and she said it taste good. I also asked Mommy D of course coz Y NOT? LOL. And man, she also said it taste good too. But Mama forgot to mention one thign to me ಥ‿ಥ. And that's ro put sugar in it. Like, whyyyyy (• ▽ •;). Mama said she forgot. Lol. Aigoooooo. Still, the taste is already good for them so i'm happy \(๑╹◡╹๑)ノ♬

And yeo, rhis is how we eat this. I mean, the beat way to eat it for me. Get a hot steamed white rice and pour the Dinuguan on top of it. And thats it. Seriously, seriously SO GOOD! ♪ \(^ω^\ )
And of course, now that I know how to cook Dinuguan, I would cook them again for sure. As long as there are available pig blood in the market, thats possible. And so, until next time (^∇^)ノ♪

I enjoyed reading your post. 😊 Dinuguan is also not my favorite dish, but I can eat it when it is cooked well. My mother also cooks Dinuguan sometimes, pag nasa Pangasinan ako, and I always enjoy it with a big serving of hot rice. I can relate to what you said about pouring the sauce over the rice because that is really masarap. It is nice that you learned how to cook it by yourself and received compliments from your Mama and Mommy D. I think that made the experience even more special and memorable. The ingredients are simple, but it still takes patience and effort to cook it properly. Nakakatuwa that your first attempt turned out successful, even though the sugar was forgotten. 😁 I also believe that family recipes are the best because they are made with love and shared with happy memories. Ayiiiieeeee!!! Thank you for sharing your mother's version of Dinuguan and your cooking journey with us, Ms. Aigooooo/Ms. Lolol. ❤️😅

Getting approval from Mama and Mommy D on your very first try is a huge win. Pouring it over hot rice sounds like the absolute best way to eat it too. 🌻

One of the most important aspects of cooking family dishes is that they awaken not only a sensory memory of taste and smell, but also trigger personal recollections. Best regards, @ruffatotmeee
Yes, yes, thats! Thats it. Thank you 💃🌼
Jeje.
I don't know this dish but seems a good goal to cook it well happy your family appreciated it ❤️💕
Yes, yes, thats one recipe that I finally able to cook for the fam 💃🌟✨🌼
