Not The Best, But It's The Best Expeprience: My First Time Making Fish Siomai -It's A Fail But The Fam Loves It!

So, hey guys, I made something really cute the other day. I made Siomai but with more carrots than the main ingredients which is the fish. In this case the main ingredient become the carrot coz I literally put 1/4 kilo of it. Lol. I thought it is not possible but it is, and it is just cute coz I feel like I made something wrong while combining all the siomai mixture. Lol. Still, it is one nice experience and I am actually planning to make it again but this time, I want Chicken meat in it. Hopefully I can successfully make it if ever that time arrive.
Now, lemme share how I made it so that you won't make the same mistake just like what I did. Can't still find that mistake but let see. Is it perhaps coz I didn't use egg when they're required in making it. But was it really? And seriously I used more flour in it because I want to make more with the help of flour. Lol. Is that it? Hmmmm ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌. I watched making siomai on FB and I thought I can make some adjustment and will success on it but guess not. Ahh, my siomai actually got too watery in the end, coz of the carrot for sure, no?

So, here's the ingredients for it. As you can see there's a small fish head there, its a Dalagang Bukid, we also have the wrapper, then the carrot, flour, onion, garlic and calamansi? Ah, yes, its for the dipping later. Ehe

I also harvested a small amount of malunggay for an added nutrients and color? As for the fish, I removed its bone and made it like this

I peeled the carrot and cut them into small sizes. I will use manual food processor here so its a must!

And even though I already cut the carrot small, I still had a hard time processing it. It need strength, thats for sure. But will, I think I still have it so lucky me I was able to finish it

Next mixing everything together! In a bowl, we'll mix the carrot, onion, garlic, the seasonings, salt and pepper, then the flour, mix, mix, mix!

After mixing them, they should look like this. Is this actually right (≧▽≦)? I also ready the wrapper to start wrapping them

This is my first time but I really think I did okay here hahaha -what do you think guys? Ah, while wrapping, I already ready casserole where i'll steam these

And this is the setup! Before putting the siomai, I added drops of oil first coz I don't have parchment paper. Thats for them not to stick. And then I steam them for 15 minutes over medium heat.

I checked them after 15 minutes and they are finally ready. But it looks different. I really think it needs more flour -or maybe egg? It doesn't look right ro me to be honest.

And coz I really think its a fail, I decided to fry the second batch. Aigoooo. I like this one better coz I love the crispy wrapper

And here's everything! Cute no? Lololol..but Despite me not so satisfied with what I made, Mommy D really complimented, shw said it taste good. I guess I seasoned it well. And coz she's picky sometimes, that is a big compliment for me. Rawrrrr (≧▽≦). But I will really make sure to make it even better next time. Promise! ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ
