Our Kind of Sunday: It's a Productive Day for Ma, But She Got Firewood as a Reward ft. Crispy and Chewy Carioca

Mama's productivity is really on high today, its not always like that though haha. You see, my laziness came from her, it's genetic? Lololol. Anyways, she's been cutting woods since yesterday. She finally work on it because she finally run out of firewoods. Its from a dry tree, I think it is the body, and it was from the last typhoon that struck our town, I mean, the Bangkal tree was cut into half due to that. Mama already cut and used all the other part of it so this is the last of them. Now, we don't know where she'll get more woods once she use up all of these.

Anyways, I saw her getting busy here and I think she already forget that clock is ticking. It is already 8:20 am and I had to remind her that we have to go to the market. When I told her that, she asked the time and yep, she really lost track of the time. Lol.

I joined with her foe a while -no, I just watch actually and let her do her thing. Seeing these hard woods, this will need lots of time to finish them all.

I also saw Kulas on the side, maybe accompanying mama, her lil cheerdog? Lolol. When he saw me, he move closer to me wagging his tail, as if he is the happiest.

He's like this to me now because I have the habit that when I carry him, I'll automatically gave him a treat, either chicken or fish which also came from their kitchen HAHAHA.

And here's Mama in her sexy yellow sando that we found on UK, Ukay Ukay I mean, lol. She had to stop cutting the woods here cox she also need to prepare coz we're going to the market.

There's something i'm looking forward in this trip to the market. The Kakanin, and with the same seller where I bought the Palitaw...

Here we are on the Sunny Day.

Today's also Tiangge-an day and so we went to the other building to check the kakanin. Luckily, we found the seller there and this time she's selling more type of kakanin which are all really familiar t me, theres Palitaw, Pilipit and Carioca which I haven't eaten for ages, its been so long. Huhu

I heard someone mentioned Carioca and I said to myself, *I WANT THAT!" It looks crispy and sweet, omg. By the way, look at all the people that shopping in here that time. After getting one Carioca and one Palitaw, we then left and walk back home.

Look at that golden brown balls coates with caramelized sugar. Carioca is actually made with glutinous rice flour and according to the seller, she used shredded coconut in it with coconut milk. She even let mama smell it because it smells really good thanks to it. It was deep fried before it was coated in caramelized sugar. It is really crispy, sweet and a bit chewy.

I love the shredded coconut inside that I chewed, I feel like its perfect with it. I am not sure if there's other version of Carioca but I love this one. Until now, my mouth is still searching for that crispy, chewy and sweet texture of it. ( ◜‿◝ )♡

Any type of cooking using dry wood as fuel is much more delicious than using gas.

Cooking with what you get yourself from nature, like that dry firewood from the fallen tree in the backyard, is something else; the flavor of the food completely changes.

Your Mom is so hardworking. I guess she's not used to just be sitting around. And until now, I'm still not sure if Bicho Bicho and Carioca are just the same 😅😄 Anyway, I like eating them piping hot, with "paso" effect 😅
