Savoring the Goodness of Kakanin: I'm Rich When I Can Buy Suman, Maja, Buchi, Puto, or Espasol.

Kakanin is what I crave from time to time, back when everything is still a lil cheaper, we can just buy then on tiangge-an day when I crave for it. But now, having it is like a luxury. And I'll just choose to buy ingredients for our viand or a snacks for whole family which is cheaper than get kakanin. Of course I understand that everything is really expensive now. I know how laborious and costly it is, we experienced making some of it, but it is really just me who's really sad that I can't buy them now whenever I want


Anyways, I didn't share much about this Ube Buchi that Auntie Velyn made. Its Ube fillings are actually made from Sweet Potato, she used the purple sweet potato on it. She told me how much she has to spent for every Ingredients but of course, what's harder here is making everything as it requires a lot of steps. We can just make this every day if it is easy


But in every steps that you had to do here is a wonderful reward that's waiting for you. Still, if its me, I'll only make this occasionally or in special day. But seriously, in making this, you have to make the dough and the fillings. You also have to fry it after filling in it. See, its a long process. But they worth it though. There's actually a few people that sells bigfer Buchi in the Tiangge-an, but man, the price for two pieces is already 25 pesos. Like, I know it is costly making it, but, I am just not ready to spend that much for it. But I should try them too one day.


By the way, this is the sweet potato filling for this Buchi but I think this is just leftovers so it is like naked Buchi, lol. Just the fillings but stull coated in sesame seeds. It actually taste really good.

And so, here's the rare times where I bought two types of kakanin. It is not much and really just enough to share with the oldies


Lets start with Maja, it is different to the creamy Maja Blanca that uses corn starch. The corn used in here is a ground corn that's why it is yellowish. Its texture is also different from Maja Blanca but this one is really super good too.


This one has free Latik or Toasted Coconut Milk Turd, it is really a great toppings for Maja and even in Suman or in some kakanin. And as foe the Maja, the texture of it is harder that a creamy Maja Blanca but it is really good too especially if it has toppings


Next is Suman, it is wrapped in a banana leaves and it also has free Latik.. the suman is kind of salty and it really goes well with the sweet Latik here


This Suman is made with Glutinous rice, it is chewy and has the right saltiness in it. Seeing this made me crave for it right now. Looks good right? \(^o^)/
Its been a while since I last had these two, today is Friday so I'll try to buy some kakanina on Sunday. I want suman, espasol and rice puto right now. Looking forward already for Sunday ♪┌|∵|┘♪

i am also a kakanin lover. my meal will never be complete without these tasty kakanins. my all time fave is biko with latik.
Oh my, reading the biko made me crave for it no, UwU. And yes Biko with latik is the bestesttttttt. But my ult is espasol naman and puto na gawa sa rice not APF.
