Strolling in the Mall, Picking Up Some Pasalubong for the Oldies in the Supermarket, and My Amazing Time With My Little Brother

Whenever I visit a neighboring town or if I have some errands to run somewhere in the capital, I always make sure to bring a small "Pasalubong" for my oldies, no matter how tight my budget is. Even just a piece of bread for a snack is really enough for them, they are already grateful for it, especially my Mommy F. It's just that seeing my oldies happy faces receiving that pasalubong or a gift of snacks always brings me joy.

Although they are not expecting anything, it has become a habit that I always bring a "take home" for them to snack on or eat later. Sometimes I pick a bread, sometimes I go with junk food, or sometimes a burger, and they are already happy with it. A $1 budget sometimes makes it okay to buy a different kind of bread. And it's not that big, so $1 or $2 is already enough. Am I the only one? How about you guys?

So after attending my appointment that day with my ENT doctor, me and my little brother visit Xentro Mall and buy my meds inside, and we also have lunch in Greenwich not far from here We are planning to go to the supermarket to shop for a few things and pick some pasalubong for Mama and the oldies, so we headed there after having our lunch. I'm already thinking about what to get for Mommy F, and because I'm on a tight budget, I'm thinking of picking something they will enjoy. She loves peanuts, so that's what comes to mind after some thinking. As for Mama, little brother is the one buying her a Pasalubong, he planned it already.

We're finally inside, and I'm also excited to go inside because it's been a long time since we last shopped here. I want to check if there are changes inside already or if they have new products inside. It's not like I can check them all, but we still have time to kill, so we have all the time to check them.

We first visit the meat, fruit, and vegetables section. You can really see a lot in here, especially those expensive vegetables that I rarely see in the public market. They still look fresh and are really of good quality. I'm actually checking them to see if I can pick something up. That time, my oldies suggested I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I know I should listen. But upon checking their prices, I just backed out. I told my little brother that I would just buy fruits in the public market. Lol.

We proceeded to walk into the frozen goodies. I saw Siopao, Siomai, Burger Patties, Hatdogs, and a lot more, so much that I had a hard time picking something for all of us. I'm thinking of picking potato fries, but I still have to buy cooking oil for that. So I thought I should go with something that only needs some steaming, so either siomai or siopao, and I chose the latter.

So we continue checking every section, specifically the food section, lol. We love foods, what to do? Lolol. If only my money is not limited, I'll surely pick up a lot of food in there - as in a lot, lol. One of my dreams is to shop for lots of foods and things and then fill a whole van with those goodies. To dream is free, right? Lolololol.

Here's more, food, food, fooooooood! It's lunch time when we visit the supermarket, and that's why you can see a few people in here. If you want to see a lot of people, they are flocking to Mang Inasal at that time and some other fast food chain. Sad, I couldn't take a photo of them flooding Mang Inasal. But anyway, let's check out the other stuff here, checking only, eherm lol.

And here's another food section, but for some delicacies in different places, from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. There's actually a lot of them, and I couldn't take photos of them all, from banana chips to peanuts that come in different varieties, dried mango, and many more. You can pick anything you want to bring home for the whole family. My brother picked a dried mango for us. It's only one because it is too expensive. Dried mango is the best guys!

By the way, we passed by the mineral water section, and I had to take a second look at the price of this water, Evian, because I think it is too expensive. Like why? Are they perhaps using a golden pipe to get some water or what? Haha. I'm not really sure why, and it's not like I really care about their pricing - and we don't buy water this expensive - but I'm really just curious, you know, why? Lol. So I looked it up on Google and then I found out why, so that's the reason why. I just had no idea (≧▽≦).

I also notice this thing here, my little brother knows what it is and I do not. It is a price checker, and it's cool that they have that here, it is very helpful to all the shoppers. I actually saw this before when I still visited the capital with my oldies. We often shop here after getting what we need, but I still have no idea how to use it. And it was only at that time that I learned how to use it, thanks to my brother. Sad though, this thing is not working at that time.

After getting all we need and want, it's paying time, lol. There's a line, so my brother had to wait. This is also the time when we decided to buy Magnum Ice Cream and try it for the first time. And while my brother is in line, I just look a bit more in the supermarket. And oh, I forgot to mention this, but near the fruits section, they have a salad bar in there with those fresh and different fruits and veggies. I got to try a fruit salad before in SM Mall when my sister treated me to it. It's just too sweet that I experienced a sore throat the next day, lol. But I love it because the fruit is really fresh. I'm sure those too will taste really, really good.

We left our shopping bag in the supermarket to look around in the mall. I also have to pee, and the comfort room was on the second floor. I dunno why they moved it when it was on the first floor before. But either way, there's a lot to see on the second floor too. You can also see the playing area on that floor with different arcades, which kids and adults will surely love.

I have never really played in this area, and I feel like people will laugh if I try, even though I know that it is for adults too. I don't know - I'm just too shy to even try. There is one game that I wanted to try in this area, it's a shooting game using guns. I saw a kid before playing that, and I want to really try it. But after some thinking about the things I have to do first before I can play, I just drop the idea and continue to stroll around.

After the stroll, we proceeded to get our stuff in the supermarket and headed to the terminal. We waited for like 30 minutes before the van was filled, and so, at 2 p.m., we are already on our way home.

Even if this day is fun and filled with food trips, it is still tiring at the end of the day. Then it is really hot too, that's why sometimes I just don't want to go anywhere, lol. But anyways, it's still a fun experience, and who knows where I will be able to visit the mall again? Next time, I want to go with my family again. Manifesting 101 ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ, I'll just need some planning and saving. Soon (人 •͈ᴗ•͈).

Pasalubong is already a Filipino norm and it really feels so incomplete to visit other people's household without bringing one. It is a way of perhaps saying I thought of you even I was traveling, or perhaps, I want you to enjoy that treat. I feel the same way too, everytime I go home or visit a friend I always bring pasalubong. It would always be the thought that counts!😊
