How My Sleep Schedule Works For Me

Bedtime is one of the most important parts of one's day, especially after having a stressful day and all you can think of is taking a shower and hitting the sack.

I would consider myself an early bird during weekdays because I know I would be going to work. One thing I dislike is going late to work so I always make sure to get up early. Whenever I know I am very tired, I sleep very early and also set my alarm to remind me I have a place to be.

During weekends I love to sleep in because I don't have anywhere to be. I always like to ensure I utilize my weekend well which mostly means I get to have my me-time and sleep which is one thing I don't joke with.

My sleep schedule during the weekdays is very consistent. I do a 10 pm - 5 am which affords me a 7-hour sleep. Sometimes when my first alarm goes off by 5 am, I do a little mental thinking. I would contemplate spending just a few minutes more on the bed or getting up immediately. I think it all depends on what I plan on doing before going to work. If all I had to do was to prepare a meal, then I could try to give myself a 20-30 minutes extra rest but if I had other things to do,I will get up immediately.

I once made a mistake which caused me to sleep off and I woke up at 6:30 am. You need to see me flying off the bed with the speed of a lightning bolt and quickly went into the bathroom. That was the fastest bath I ever had and I couldn't prepare any meal. All I managed to do was to make my instant coffee to-go and off I went. I had to order food that day. Ever since I always make sure I have a second alarm by 5:30 am so that I don't ever wake up late.

I usually leave home by 7 am, at most 7:05 am. I hate going to work late because if it happens, I will already be disorientated and it might take a while to get everything on track. Since I don't like being disorganized, I make sure I get to work on time.

But on weekends, I make sure I sleep like never before. My sleeping schedule during the weekends is never consistent. I could watch a movie and sleep, I could finish up with my house chores and sleep afterward. All I can say is that I enjoy sleep more during weekends.

I won't deny that on occasion, I get thrown off my sleep schedule. This often happens when I am stressed out due to lots of activities at work and also when I decide to not sleep on time. I wouldn't say I decided, some factors might contribute to it. One of which is watching an interesting movie.

There are some movies that you will not want to stop watching till you get to the end else you start dreaming about it. This is one of the reasons why I barely watch movies during weekdays. I only do so sometimes when it's not a long-hour movie. I can say that there are some movies on my phone that I am yet to see despite having them for a long because I want to take my time to watch them which can only be possible during weekends or when there is a break from work.

Bedtime is very important to me so I always make sure I sleep well because I am only at my best when I am fully rested.

It’s so true
There are some movies that I’ve dreamed about just because I couldn’t finish watching and now that I think of it it’s really funny 😂😂

Maybe I should also stick to not watching movies on weekdays😂

Well it's good to know one's bed time that best suit one's schedule. I do sleep late and wake up early, and it's now so part of me that no matter the time I slept, I would wake up the exact time I do wake even when I sleep early.

OHHHHH yes! Those movies that would engage you so much. The worst are interesting series 😂
You wouldn't even know when day breaks.

Inasmuch as i love seeing movies, I do not joke with my sleeping schedule because if I get little sleep then my day becomes a rollercoaster.

If I stay a few more minutes in bed, it's a total failure!

Don't you have anywhere to go on weekends? 😔

You see that jumping off your bed with a speed like a lightening bolt enh, it used to happen to me especially when the sleep is sweetening me and I need to sleep for some minutes and by the time my brain is conscious that there is somewhere important I need to go, I rush in the bathroom like some sort of power, take my bath. In the end, I used to forget something behind 🤣🤣

Sleep is always sweet and I enjoy it most during weekends.

This is one of the reasons why I barely engage in outdoor activities during weekends because I consider it to be the only opportunity I get to have a me-time. I usually wear casual wear throughout the weekend to show how relaxed I feel.

I used to encounter the same issue of Watching movies till it is late or probably during when I'm suppose to be doing something more productive. I realise that there are times that I don't have enough self discipline to stay away from such movies especially if it is a TV show I enjoy watching. So I don't bother having such movies on my phone till weekend when I can relax and watch them.

Sleeping is my way of rebooting especially when I'm stressed, there are times that I will quickly take a nap before writing on hive. A good rest could be therapeutic.

This is exactly what I experienced today and it wasn't funny at all.
Once I sleep late, it just destabilizes me that when I wake up, I still feel weak.
