Happy Name Day to me!
Yesterday was my Name Day, the day we celebrate and honor the memory of the Saint we were named after. Although I had to stay home taking care of Little Man who has been a little sick since Tuesday, I didn't miss the chance to "celebrate" with some good food...
Home made pizza, with a technique that worked so well and the dough was very soft.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 2 packets of dry yeast (a total of 18 gr)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 kilo all purpose flour
Steps:
- In a bowl I diluted the yeast into the water and added the sugar and two cups of flour using my whisk.
*Then, I covered the mix and let it rest in front of the heating stove for fifteen to twenty minutes. - Next, I added the oil, salt and a little more flour and started mixing with a wooden spoon until it became thick enough to use my hands.
- I kept kneading adding the rest of the flour in small batches until I had a nice soft dough that would not stick between my fingers.
- I gave my dough a nice round shape and covered it in some olive oil.
- Then, I covered the dough again and let it rest in front of the heating stove until it became double in size.
- Once ready, I used some olive oil to fix the dough on the baking tray with my hands and added some sauce, a mix of yellow cheese, bacon and tomato slices.
- After thirty to forty minutes in the preheated oven at 200 °C our pizza was ready!*
Delicious, hot, homemade pizza! The perfect Saturday dinner!
And for dessert... Some milk chocolate filled with strawberry cream, a sweet present from the Big Man of the house to his wife!

😊🤙🌈 HAPPY DAY DAY!!
The things I'll be doing when the oven gets here xD
The pizza seems like a good idea to celebrate a name day 🧡
Damn... I've avoided pizza for as long as I can remember, maybe once a year at most, because now I'm an old piece of shit, I gain weight through photosynthesis, let alone Domino's.
But... this looks good enough to inspire me to do homemade now I have an oven for the first time since I was too young to use one...
