Last days of holidays

Our Christmas holiday break ends tomorrow, which means bye bye free time and welcome routine! We didn't want to stay in and waste such a lovely day and since the weather forecast is not very promising for the next weekend, we decided not to miss out on the sunshine and go for a walk across the sandy winter beach. Maybe next weekend we won't be so lucky.

The chilly sea breeze made us want to zip our coats, but the sun felt like a true blessing on our faces!

The beach was almost empty with a few scarce passers-by every 500-600 meters or so. After having breakfast in the car while driving to get to the beach (a tasty and full of sinful calories cheese bougatsa pie), we had the chance to enjoy a cup of takeaway coffee gazing upon this view.

The atmosphere was so clear, the air felt so fresh and invigorating and the sea looked so cold that none of us wanted to take our shoes off and soak our feet in the waves that gently kissed the shore. Well almost none of us, since Little Man tried to reach the water a couple of times, but his father stopped him on time!

He soon found other things to play with. Exploring the sand, the washed out sea shells and driftwood felt so magical that he was deeply absorbed for a long time. When he finally decided he had enough "messy play" for the day, he started running towards the car asking for his father to get him the key so that he could get in and play with the CD player and all the other mystery buttons in front of the driver's seat.

Back home, he had a nice shower to make sure no sand would be left hiding in his underwear and quickly fell asleep after lunch.
