Saludos damas de Hive, una nueva semana de actividades, estoy en España visitando a dos de mis tres hijos y trato de mantenerme activa en los concursos. Me colocaron una portátil y trato de manejarme con ella, poco a poco ya que no soy tan experta, pero la parte buena es que aprendo y recuerdo.

Greetings, Hive ladies! A new week of activities is upon us. I'm in Spain visiting two of my three children and trying to stay active in the contests. I've been given a laptop and I'm trying to get the hang of it, little by little, since I'm not that much of an expert. But the good thing is that I'm learning and refreshing my memory.

¿Qué figura pública, mentor o persona en su vida ha inspirado más su elección de carrera, curso de estudio o trayectoria empresarial?

Which public figure, mentor, or person in your life has inspired your choice of career, course of study, or business path the most?

La razón para escoger mi carrera fue mi hermanito menor, un año de diferencia y nació con síndrome de down y daños cerebrales, en esa época años 61 no se conocía mucho el balanceo, los autogolpes y otras afecciones atribuidas al autismo grave. Yo deseaba curarlo y quería estudiar medicina, pero sabía que contaba con poco tiempo y eso requería mucho estudio, años en verdad.

Entonces cuando iba a escoger la carrera escuche hablar de educar a los niños especiales, ya había algunas escuelas que se dedicaban a enseñarles y no tenerlos encerrados en casa y esa idea me encanto. Pero cuando ya iba a iniciar la carrera el enfermo y falleció ese año. Así que seguí con mi idea de enseñar a otros niños como él, ya tenia la experiencia en casa, solo me faltaba las técnicas para desarrollarlas.

The reason I chose my career path was my younger brother, a year younger than me, who was born with Down syndrome and brain damage. At that time, in 1961, there wasn't much understanding of the rocking motion, self-inflicted injuries, and other conditions attributed to severe autism. I wanted to cure him and wanted to study medicine, but I knew I had limited time and that it required a lot of study—years, really.

Then, when I was about to choose my career, I heard about educating children with special needs. There were already some schools dedicated to teaching them instead of keeping them confined at home, and I loved that idea. But just as I was about to start my studies, my brother became ill and passed away that year. So I continued with my idea of ​​teaching other children like him. I already had the experience at home; I just lacked the techniques to implement them.

Mi hermanito Andrés Teodoro fue siempre mi más grande inspiración para escoger mi carrera y trabajar con niños especiales, que lograron integrase a la sociedad, hacer la primera comunión, sacar su documento de identidad y algunos trabajar.

My little brother Andres Teodoro was always my greatest inspiration for choosing my career and working with special children, who managed to integrate into society, make their first communion, get their identity document and some of them work.
