De la mano de la amiga @thekittygirl qué nos trae una verdadera y única inquietud en ésta ocasión: Cuando era niña, escuchaba con frecuencia: "No puedes ser _______ porque eres una niña". ¿Cuándo empezaste a ver cambios en las actitudes hacia las mujeres en tu vida y qué crees que provocó esos cambios?

Aquí hay mucha tela que cortar, sin duda alguna las mujeres hemos superado muchos obstáculos para estar a la par de los hombres.

The best pleasure in life is doing the things that people tell you we can't do. Thus begins this story of a part of my life.

La verdad nunca dejamos de aprender. A veces las lecciones son duras y te enseñan la cruda realidad. Nadie nos preparó para ciertas cosas y muchas veces no sabiamos qué eso no era normal.

Recuerdo detalles en mi infancia que le comentaba a mis hijos cuando estuvieron más grandes, para qué notaran la diferencia en la educación actual. Las mejores piezas del pollo eran para los dos hombres en la casa mi padre y mi hermano mayor. Cuándo pienso en restrospectiva sobre el tema las mujeres recibíamos las partes menos apreciadas del pollo.

Los juegos de futbol estaban mal vistos para las niñas, pero yo tenía unos primos y vecinos que sabían de mis buenas habilidades y a escondida jugábamos algunos partidos.

Por suerte mis padres me dieron una buena educación que me permitio estudiar la carrera que deseaba, quería ayudar a mi hermanito menor y educarlo, el era retrasado mental.

The truth is we never stop learning. Sometimes the lessons are hard and they teach you the harsh reality. No one prepared us for certain things and many times we did not know what was normal.

I remember details in my childhood that I told my children when they were older, so that they would notice the difference in current education. The best pieces of chicken went to the two men in the house, my father and my older brother. When I think back on the subject we women got the least appreciated parts of the chicken.

Soccer games were frowned upon for girls, but I had some cousins ​​and neighbors who knew of my good skills and secretly we played some games.

Luckily my parents gave me a good education that allowed me to study the career I wanted, I wanted to help my little brother and educate him, he was mentally retarded.

Cuándo mi madre por dificultades económicas tomó las riendas del taller de reparaciones, no era nada común ver a una mujer reparando lavadoras y rebobinando motores. Muchas veces sufrió de discriminación, pero sus habilidades sorprendieron a muchos y tuvieron que reconocer su gran inventiva.

When my mother, due to economic difficulties, took over the repair shop, it was not common to see a woman repairing washing machines and rewinding motors. Many times he suffered from discrimination, but his abilities surprised many and they had to recognize his great inventiveness.

Cuando mi hermana y yo tomamos las riendas del taller y la venta de repuestos para electródomesticos, se daban casos como que nuestros hijos varones nos acompañaban en la empresa y el que entraba a comprar repuestos, inmediatamente se dirigía a preguntarles a los hombres presentes. Ellos inmediatamente nos señalaban a nosotras: ellas son las qué saben más.

When my sister and I took over the workshop and the sale of spare parts for appliances, there were cases where our sons accompanied us in the company and whoever came in to buy spare parts immediately went to ask the men present. They immediately pointed to us: they are the ones who know the most.

Ya después de tantos años en la zona, los clientes reconocen qué los conocimientos son de las damas en la empresa.
Cambiarle la mentalidad a la gente sobre lo que puede hacer o no las mujeres, ha tomado tiempo, ha sido por esfuerzo, preparación y conocimiento qué se ha logrado estos cambios.

Already after so many years in the area, customers recognize what the knowledge is from the ladies in the company.
Changing people's mentality about what women can or cannot do has taken time, it has been through effort, preparation and knowledge that these changes have been achieved.
