A DCity Update

Another week, and the same old song. Before I point out that ugly "T" word, yet again, I wanted to point out some positives I experienced with this game. I ran two festivals this past week:

  • Splinterlands Festy : I snagged a dice pack, and two gamer cards
  • Art Convention : that one yielded me to artist cards

I also had the following :

  • I managed to increase my #dcity population by +94 sim souls

So, not all was bad, right? I wonder if there was anything I thought was negative this past week...I wonder. Oh yeah, let's look at the tax rate chart:

Brutal, just brutal. And this is with me having a law office card. Needless to say, I have not bought any First, Second, or Third Edition cards this past week to increase my card holdings. I'm still in a "let's wait and see what is going to happen with this game" mode, and collecting as much passive benefits as possible.

My updated SIM charts:

I was such a big proponent of this game three months ago; now I sort of wish I had my Litecoin and EOS back, you know? I don't foresee any new capital flowing into this game until the taxation/SIM supply balances into something that makes it an attractive investment for new players. I mean, I'd even take a time machine back to the days before the Third Edition rollout, you know? I was downright giddy getting $5 USD / day and reinvesting. The accountant in me knew it didn't make sense, but I loved it. Hey, it's all wild west in this space, DCity or otherwise. I get it.

Still, I continue to HODL long and hope for better days ahead. How about you? Are you throwing in the towel or giving it a chance?

Yeah, it is like real life - sometimes we have to wait until the f*#king time goes away to be more "normal" again.

I have the same issues with my dCity, but I still like the overall game idea and the team behind.

Yepp, When I joined, I thought I would sell all my cards when 3rd edition will release. Because it's best time.

But in between, I realized that gerber's a smart guy. And he will figure out something. Maybe opportunities for dCity outside hive circle, someday.

So, I am holding. Reinvesting everything.🤓

I loved the game too; I loved the strategy, the SIM, the technology. I'm holding, of course...I was just so excited to save up for that Space Center card. No luck on that now!

Lol, when I bought my first few cards 6-8 months back, I thought to myself that the best time to get out is 3rd edition release.

I was taking out a little bit every now and then, but keeping the bulk of my cards to sell at 3rd edition release.

The value of my cards increased. But I was so hooked up with the game that I didn't sell anything at all. Lol.

Now, I think, I should have sold half of my cards. And should have kept the rest to moon or for hodl forever.

But anyways. Most of us are holding with you. Diamond hands😅

Oh yeah, Diamond hands! I think this game will normalize at some point...I just wish we could be buying cards more often to compound our passive income.

I hoarded everything too, and probably missed the time to sell. Story of my life, lol
