Bromstens IK Start Of My Football Journey | Bromstens IP | Stockholm

Since childhood I had a big interest in sports, especially football. That is something I have expressed previously in my blogs as well, so I thought, why not write about the beginning of my footballing career. Since I was in preschool, I loved to play football. Mamma and Pappa saw how interested I was in football and one day gave me a big surprize. From preschool to 6th grade, I went to a school named Bromstensskolan. Mamma and Pappa took me to a football ground we had near the school, Bromstens IP. I didn't know what was going to happen but just thought, why are we here? Suddenly more families with their kids started to arrive and I saw some trainers there as well. At that time there was a summer activity for kids as preparation for being footballers organized by Landslagets Fotbolsskola. I was so happy, because now I could play football in a team. The trainers taught us how to pass, dribble and shoot as basic that you need to have. @rosecane wrote a blog when he was with me during the practices as well. After a few months of practice sessions, I jumped off the practices, but this was just the beginning.

As said above, I went to a school named Bromstensskolan. The school was huge and had two football grounds where you could play 9v9 matches. School time started at 8am and before that no one could enter inside the building's of the school, instead if you came earlier than 8am you had to stay outside to play, there were also few teachers outside in case something happens. Every morning I used to arrive at the school between 7 to 7:30 am with the intention of playing some football in that 1 hour or 30 minutes. Sometimes I could find some students that were older but when I couldn't find anyone, we always had a teacher there on the ground, his name was Denis. He used to play, one V one, corners, free-kicks and more fun football activities with me. One thing in common was that he was a Manchester United fan just like me, so we used to talk about that as well. Not only that, but in between the breaks we used to play class versus class and the matches were very tough and heated.

In 6th grade, suddenly I was interested to start again in a football club. I told mamma and pappa that I wanted to start in a club, as I played football in school and enjoyed it a lot, It would be more fun to practice, play matches and tournaments. As school was going well, they agreed and said that I should start looking for a club. Everyone in my grade at school was already playing in a club named Bromstens IK, the funny thing is that their home ground is the stadium near Bromstens IP where I used to practice back in the day. As many of my friends previously wanted me to join the club, I thought this is the right time.

It was December and the team was getting prepared for the upcoming season which was going to start in April. To contact the coaches was very easy as they were dads to two of my classmates. After three trial sessions I got into the team and the chemistry with the coaches was great now.

First few games were tough, I got to know that football in school was far easier than playing in a club. Playing in school is like playing street football, some rules aren't real and some are selfmade. In my first match, we were on attack and one of our midfielders had the ball and was driving forward. As I play as a left-winger, I wanted him to pass me as I was totally free, but he didn't make the pass. At halftime team talk, he came to me and I am glad to have played with the guys, because instead of screaming or taunting me he told me that I was offside. Coaches noticed I might not know in detail what offside means, so both of them explained on a magnetic board in detail. Sounds bad as a football fan 😂, but that's the truth.

Here are some highlights of our matches, with the first video being my first goal for the team.

Bromstens IK vs Hässelby SK

Bromstens IK vs FC Djursholm

Bromstens IK vs Lidingö FK

A learning and amazing first season came to an end at Bromstens IK where we finished 4th in Boys year 2005 division 4 and 5th in Boys year 2005 division 5. This was the season where I learned a lot from my two coaches, and I am grateful to have played under them. Even though I am not playing in the team anymore, I still have quite a good connection with these two. Special thanks to mamma, pappa and Hamza, Ilma who always supported me and wanted me to play football. Despite the weather they were at the ground to support me. So to end the blog, here are some pictures of them supporting me and having fun.

you are one of the biggest fan of football I have ever seen, your craze and passion for football is out of this world. Yes, I do remember your practice sessions where you were unstoppable, even on the whistle from the trainer to stop playing, you never stopped and kept kicking the ball.
I wish I could see you playing for Sweden someday, good luck!!!

Thanks @rosecane, it is all because everyone appreciates and motivates me to keep playing. Don't know about football anymore 😄, but still have some hope in cricket 😅😅.
