20-10-20 A Day to Remember: #End Police Brutality in Nigeria

How it Happened

It was a bloody Tuesday in October 2020 when peaceful protesters moved allover Nigeria to voice out the irresponsibilities of the government. As the sun 🌞🌞 rose from the East that faithful day, young men and women who were tired of the unbearable conditions and hardship faced by Nigeria. That day the lives of peaceful protesters were wasted by the Nigerian Police who got directives from their superiors to attack the resilient youth had the intention to bring their country back to developmental state. Although 2020 has gone, the day ever remained in our hearts 💕.

A Day to Remember
Today commemorate the demise of our past heroes who in a bid to air out their displeasures and anomaly's noticeable in the system lost their lives in the fires and clatter of gunshots. Ojukwu once said that "we must accept student protest as a necessary training for leadership whilst decrying violence as the worst form of irresponsibility".Source Our leaders have romanticized with the latter that is why the lives of people were not pivotal in this geographical location called Nigeria. Our stepping out today for them is to show we were and are still in solidarity with the fight against the irregularities in the system. We come out in our innumerable numbers to vociferate songs of commiserations even as we pray that their souls will Rest in Peace. In the annals of our country "20-10-2020" can never be forgotten as it has marked a watershed in the history of the violence in our country.

As Violence Against Citizens Ended

People living in the Southeastern part of Nigeria, have been facing serious military brutality due to their secession tendencies to for the Republic of Biafra. The question is are they wrong in asking for their our sovereign state? No they're not but they must do that with peaceful tendencies through referendum. As a democratic state, Nigerian citizens are supposed to be given their full fundamental human rights but that is not the case in Nigeria.

I conclude with these words, if peaceful protest is a crime as the federal government of Nigeria, what is the hope for the common man.

The feeling is mutual my dear friend. We must not keep silent, because the future generations will question our existence.
