Australian teachers plead for delayed school start as country faces COVID-19 peak

Greetings friends,
The past few weeks have been terrible due to the transmission and death caused by the covid-19 pandemic and the harmful nature of the covid-19 vaccine to human lives. There has also been the news that governments of several nations are forcing their citizens including to take the vaccine even when Doctors and Scientists are warning against the side effects, immediate and future troubles the vaccine will bring upon the world. Australian government plan to resume face-to-face learning is a very good idea in itself but the negative on teachers, children and parents considering the country's peak in the covid-19 pandemic, has not been considered by the government, although the government claimed to put in place relevant safety precaution measures to reduce the spread of the covid-19 pandemic through school children. My question is how can you control children who haven't seen their friends for over a year now through social distancing. Greetings from @salvadornkpara.

Few days ago the Australian government announced that all schools are to resume on the February 1, 2022. This announcement by the Department of Education was propelled by two states namely: New South Wales and Victoria. The government spokes person and Premier of New South Wales (NSW) Dominic Perrottet highlighted that the proposal for the resumption of school will be deliberated by the National Cabinet this week and by Thursday, once delibration is approved by the National Cabinet, it'll be compulsory for all schools to resume face-to-face learning by February 1.Source To back up this decision, the Department of Education in collaboration with the NSW Health Ministry have put in place measures to reduce the transmission of the covid-19 pandemic, by observing social distancing, wearing of face mask and other covid-19 precautionary measures.

Teachers Perspective of the Scheduled Resumption Date

The teachers all over Australia most especially those from New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria complained that the Department of Education decision to resume face-to-face learning by next month was not communicated to them either directly or through their association. One of the teachers who spoke out from the teacher's view is Melbourne-based secondary teacher Rosalie Steward. According to her, she's mentally preparing herself to brave school classrooms as Australia experiences an unprecedented wave of COVID-19 infections.

She's one among the thousands of teachers who are reeling at the thought of increased workloads they will inevitably face as rising COVID-19 cases force staff to isolate at home.
Ms Steward is frustrated that the government hasn't heeded the concerns of teachers who feel unsafe and overwhelmed entering school grounds during the outbreak.

Looking at it from her statement the teachers that are available will at the resumption date to kickoff term 1, will be overworked due to the unavailability of teachers who have either isolated themselves due to being positive to the coronavirus. The few left will have too much work to due except the government will employ more teachers before the resumption date.
To me the government would've consulted the Teachers Association before they conclude on the return of school children back school. The government should plan the resumption of schools in phases to see the response from parents and the level of infections among the school children, before they can announce the general resumption date in the next six months to one year. Its proven by scientists and doctors that the covid-19 vaccine is not friendly to Human Rights and there's increase in the infections. It's better parents continue with homeschooling activities and keep their children safe than to obey a government rules that'll be detrimental to the health and well being of their children. Thank you.
