Introducing Plant Album in our Homeschooling Project: A Time To Identify Plants Through Their Leaves
It's usually unique when we go into the garden and farms to find plants and to harvest their fruits. Today we took time to go into the farm to get some leafs for our plant album during our homeschool time and we made a beautiful plant album. Are you surprised to hear about plant album, just wait a little while and you'll see the full details of our constructed plant album and the items we used in making it. Greetings from @salvadornkpara all the way from the city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Names of Plant Leafs Used in Making our Plant Album
On our adventure today we got some leafs such as mango leaf, cocoyam leaf, soursop leaves, potato leaves, Carica papaya or pawpaw leaves, yam leaf, and the knim leaf. These leaves were randomly selected.
The Aim of The Plant Album
In today's class I had my nephew on board who was so helpful in making my plant album. The purpose of this class is to make my nephew and son understand and identify these plants not only through their fruits but also through their leaves. Also to participate in the making process.
Items Used in Making the Plant Album
Very few items were used in today's practical class they include: a cardboard paper, water gum and the various leaves.
How to make the Plant Album
- Get all the plant that you want to used ready. You're to keep the leaves fresh.
- Get your cardboard paper in a flat platform.
- After that get the water gum and rob it on the cardboard paper and paste the leaves one after the other until the cardboard is filled up.
Apart from these leaves helping the plant to produce properly, they also have health benefits. For instance, a mixture of the pawpaw, soursop and nin leaves with lime or lemon 🍋🍋 and water boiled at a certain temperature cures malaria. This are traditional medical solutions for antimalarial.
Finally, homeschooling is naturally adventurous and the process and strategies of organizing your homeschool determine the progress the child will make.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your time was not wasted.
Great job. I think creating an album will be a great and fun activity. With that being said, I will give this one a try to my son.
