Sharing Foodstuffs with over 300 Widows in the Spirit of Christmas Celebration

Today was spent with some widows in a rural community known as Rumuewhor in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. The number of widows in attendance was about 300. Christmas as we all know is the season of sharing and celebration. Last year's Christmas was spent in an orphanage in Port Harcourt but this year we decided to pay a visit to the rural areas to celebrate with the widows. It's so unfortunate that the mortality rate in the rural areas are much. This could be accounted for the kind of life surrounding them. Most of them can't afford good nutritious food and better health care resulting to death. Some die as a result of poor hygiene and hunger. The suffering experienced by the widows whose husbands didn't keep any tangible resources for them to take care of themselves and their children. They toil daily in their farms in other for them to earn a living. Greetings from @salvadornkpara.

Since they're much these foodstuffs were shared to them in smaller compartments and given to them. The women were so excited with the items shared to them.

Finally, what's the best way of celebrating Christmas rather than with the older, aged and the vulnerable in the society. Some people are of the habit of giving to the political class and the rich in the society in order to gain some privilege and political positions. I think that the best way to celebrate christmas is to give to the needy. Jesus Christ who is the reason for the season as that He came because of the poor and broken hearted. It's time to celebrate and share with your next door neighbor in need.
