A "WOTW" exactly 100 words story

In the real world, I stumbled upon a strange creature called "job." It wanted me there from 9 to 5, trapping me in small spaces like a hamster in a never-ending wheel.

My coworkers were a funny bunch: a talkative person who spoke really loudly, a coffee lover who never blinked, and a boss with a big tie collection. Meetings looked like work, but they were really just nap time for tired people.

The office fridge was like a black hole, eating up everyone's lunches. Oh, the real world where dreams of vacation become desperate pleas for 5 o'clock freedom.

This is my contribution to the current #dreemwotwchallenge.
As a matter of fact, I learned a new word called a drabble thanks to @samsmith1971. A drabble is a short story with exactly 100 words in length

I decided to use the last prompt option- "The real world"

You can also try the Drabble challenge, get the details here

This story is so relatable...

I already knew what drabble meant before this contest, but it's because I researched short storytelling a few years ago, I saw the word "drabble" before that, but I thought it was a fanfiction thing, until I learned it's actually used in normal storytelling.

Yeah when it comes to being able to relate to the 9-5 I think everyone can relate to a certain extent. Hopefully we find a way out of this 9-5 that we keep threading on endlessly.

Glad the story spoke to you

I started to realize lately that some topics are almost universally relatable! I should write them from time to time.

9 to 5 is really like a hamster wheel that we keep threading upon. Cool coworkers :)

This was so funny. You are a great comedic writer, Samuel.

The office fridge was like a black hole, eating up everyone's lunches.

I busted up laughing!!! How many times have we heard people complain about food items going missing haha... you describe it very humorously.

Nice take on the prompt! Thank you for participating in dreem-wotw.

I dropped in from Dreemport this evening. #dreemer for life

Should I say I found this so funny and relatable in our lives?

I stumbled upon a strange creature called "job." It wanted me there from 9 to 5, trapping me in small spaces like a hamster in a never-ending wheel.

This is just so true! Individuals are really trapped in this creature and sucking up their strength and vitality only for them to go home and revitalize and then continue in the misery. I love this! I came in from Dreemport and I am #Dreemer.
