A Joyful Sinhala and Hindu New Year Celebration at Our Workplace

The Sinhala and Hindu New Year celebration at our workplace this year was filled with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness. It was a refreshing break from our daily routines, giving everyone a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate our rich cultural traditions in a festive atmosphere.

A variety of traditional games were organized, making the day lively and entertaining for all. One of the most exciting events was the Kana Mutti Bindeema (pot-breaking game). Blindfolded participants tried their best to locate and break the pot, while others cheered and laughed at their amusing attempts. This event brought so much fun and created unforgettable moments.

Another highlight of the day was Raban Gaseema (rabana playing), which added a beautiful cultural touch to the celebration. The rhythmic sounds of the rabana created a traditional village-like atmosphere, reminding us of the true spirit of the New Year. It was both entertaining and nostalgic.

The tug of war competition was also a major attraction. Teams competed with great enthusiasm and energy, showing not only their strength but also teamwork and unity. The excitement among participants and spectators made this event truly memorable.
