It's true that lying can become a habit and it's important to try to be honest whenever possible. It's also understandable that in certain situations, lying may feel necessary to protect oneself. I'm glad that you were able to diffuse the situation and avoid potential danger.

I was happy I resolved the issue before things got out of hand. Another reason why I don't like lying is that I forget things that are not true easily and I will have to make up more lies just to cover up the previous lie
