A Short Tale: The Past in the Future

source

A little peep into the header
The audience glued to the screen
But the poet goes yonder
To say a thing about his glimpse
A story they expect
In a different light he emerged

The future holds a lot of blessings
So we all sat and discussed in a garden
But a few steps from half a century
The dreams still booming
The gathering is nowhere to be found
But the future’s handful still there as a bond
We may never have the gathering like the past
But the oneness we had will forever be present
An unforgettable present

The land and trees, beautiful and green
In the sight of our elders, unkempt and unclean
So silent as hades yard,
Overgrown like an abandoned park
Only twenty kids never played for two decades
Thought they said a thousand, guess it’s but a fairy tale

The village square and the market place
Both yearning for their play mates
But as fate will have it, their mates are not even flat mates
So far from their roots and other related branches
To feed and grow, a man must play his role
The roles we now assume has made our past a fiction
The past is a tale, no center can hold
The present unknown, everything on hold
The future uncertain, an endless tale
