Being Blessed To Bless Others

The reason you are blessed is not for you to have it all for yourself but for you to also be a channel of blessing to others. Having the mind of only "me, myself, and I" negates what humanity stands for. Humanity demands that you should also lift others when you are lifted. If you do not remember others in your blessings, then you are not fulfilling the demands of humanity.

No matter how much physical possessions you are able to acquire, none of them will matter if you cannot use them to affect others positively. If no one can point to a single thing you have done to help humanity, then you are not living for others. The joy of living is not just to live for yourself but to live for other as well. The only thing that gives posterity to your memory is not what you have but what you give.

I normally tell people that a blessed memory is not enforced, it is not coerced, it is earned. One way to earn it is how you have been a blessing to humankind. In farming for example, the only seed that has the propensity to germinate, grow, and multiply is the one that has been planted, not the one that is saved in the barn. In the same way, what gives value to your possession is how you have used it to be a blessing to others and that is what will make it to multiply.

Being a blessing to others is not what you do once in a while but it should be as a lifestyle to you. That is, what you do once and again. In your acts of kindness and goodness, it is important for you to extend it to humanity and not just limited to your acquaintances. The truth is, you can also spare an enemy as a part of your duty to humanity. Your duty to humanity goes beyond just saving a friend to sparing an enemy.

Each time you do good and each time you be a blessing to others, you will cause their soul to leap for joy and this will, in turn, create a feeling of joy within you. When you extend kindness to others, there is a kind of inner joy that is created within you, which you may not be able to explain, yet the feeling is undeniable. The person may not be able to pay you back but it should not make you to stop being a blessing. Someday and somehow, you will reap the benefits.

The truth is, the person that is always quick to become a blessing to others will not lack blessings in his life. If you are quick to show others the way, you will not be stranded when you need direction the most, because help will come through for you. No matter what happens in and around you, do not allow it to dissuade you from being a blessing to people. Is there a greater good than doing good for the benefits of others?

It is worth noting that your acts of goodness should be born out of a heart of love - love for humanity and humans. When you have unconditional love for people, you will not be part of something evil towards humanity. So above all, have love for humanity.
