Important Life Choices [Final Part]

From our last episode; we established the fact that the choices that people make in life are part of what shape their future and create the kind of person they are. In fact, what happens to you is a result of what you have created to happen through your choice. There is no action you take today that will not have an effect afterwards; maybe not immediately but in the not-so-distant future. So each time you are faced with a choice to make, you do not have to only consider the immediate effect but the long-term effect, because it also matters. Let us take a look at some of the life's choices to make in this concluding part.

The first one is your choice of nutrition and eating habit. A lot of people just open their mouth to eat anything because they feel they can, without considering the effects it may have on their body. Trust me, if what you eat is not nourishing your body, then it is already harming it. Some others just eat to fulfil a craving or to impress others, or even to feel belonged, but trust me, all these will definitely have effects at a later time. Some people are already being eaten up because of what they eat. You have to know that what you eat has a way of influencing your health, which will also influence other aspects of your life. Before eating, try to know the nutritional implications of what you want to eat. This will help you to make the right nutrition choice.

I remember a time when I had a little challenge In my health. The first point of call was to take medication. However, I discovered that when I took the medication, it neither stopped nor subsided. At that point, I knew I needed to seek for professional help. I talked with one of my friends who is a doctor and from what he observed, he pointed out a few things I should eat and others that I should stay away from. To my surprise, I applied all of them and my health was restored. I realized that all these while, it was my choice of nutrition that was actually the cause of the health challenge. When I made a better choice, I got my health back. This goes to prove that eating rightly is more important than you can ever imagine.

Apart from eating rightly, you should also know the right time to eat certain types of foods. For example, eating a very heavy meal that would take time to digest just before going to bed is not advisable. Of course, the food, even though it may be right, but the time of eating may not make it too right. It can even cause discomfort and may interfere with your sleep processes and other aspects of your life. So as much as you are eating the right foods, also endeavour to eat them rightly and at the right time to get the full benefits from them.

The next life's choice to consider here is the choice of setting boundaries - choice of knowing when to say "no." If you do not define your boundaries and what to allow into your life, people may ride on your leniency and may even bring unnecessary harm to you. Sometimes, just a "no" that you say and mean it, will be all it takes to prevent certain ills that may want to happen. You will be surprised that a lot of people do not know how to say no, and they may think that they will hurt the other person by saying no to them. Well, just to let you know; there is no way you can please every single human.

If you are not pleased with a request or an action, or even an intention, then learn to say a firm "no" without mixing emotions to it and without feeling the need to explain the "no." After all, it is your sanity, peace of mind, and happiness that matters. A lot of people have entered into one form of trouble or the other because they do not know when to establish boundaries and when to say "no." As much as you should make friends and acquaintances, you also need to set your own personal boundaries so as not to allow unwanted and unwarranted actions and intentions. Always remember that your choice is your responsibility, so make it wisely.

Peace on y'all

Nice write up friend. Eating habits are lost nowadays. Their was a time when we eat only freshly cooked food from our own kitchen. But now more of fast food in this fast pace of life. So now, health risks are more comparitively. As of the firm answer 'no' to certain questions should be followed, even if it brjngs enmity, between the two.
