Let Go Of Stress And Worries

No matter how much you worry about something, it does not get it done, rather it will put mental strain on you. Most times, what people worry about the most are uncertainties that may not even happen. More so worrying has a way of adding excessive amount of burden and weight on your mental health. A friend of mine once explain something about worrying to me, he said:

When you worry about something and it does not happen, that means you have worried in futility. However, if it happens, then you will need to worry twice.

Instead of worrying about bad things happening, why not hope for good things to happen? Must it always be the negative things that you will anticipate? When you want to take actions, you need to remove worries from your mind so that your sense of judgement will not be beclouded by sentiments. The truth is, there is nothing that ever gets done by just worrying, rather it is an due stress that you are giving to yourself.

A story was told of a motivational speaker that want to teach people the dangers of worrying. He brought a bottle of drink and raised it up, then he asked the audience to guess the weight of the bottle of water. Well, everyone gave their own assumed weight and the speaker nodded but what he said made a meaning to all of them. He told them that the weight of the bottle of water is relative to how long he holds the bottle of water. For example, if he holds it and drops for just a few seconds, it will not be weighty to him.

He continued by telling them that if he decides to hold the bottle of water for a longer period of time, maybe for 2hours, the weight will become unbearable for him to carry. This is not because any extra weight had been added to the bottle of water but because he has held the bottle of water for so long and the weight seemed amplified. You see, the more he holds the bottle of water, the more it appears weightier. He then told them that a similar thing happens when you worry - the more you hold on to worries, the more stress you bring to yourself.

You will agree with me that when you constantly focus your attention on your worries or other flip sides of your life, they will begin to seem bigger and they will becloud your mind from seeing other good sides. So instead of looking at the side of your life that you think is not working, focus more on the positive side of yourself and you will get more zeal and oomph to go through life victoriously. The truth is, life did not promise you a challenge-free adventure, but the truth is that you can overcome. So why do you worry if you will overcome or not? You only need to make the moves and remove worries and doubt from you.

When you feel the need to worry or complain, remember that the solution does not lie in complaining, rather it will sap you of the energy required to solve the problem. One of the signs of defeat is complaining. So if you do not want to be concluded as being defeated, do not give life the reasons to look at you as defeated - do not give in to complaining.
