Mixing Excitement With Life

There is a kind of ease of accomplishment that you normally experience when you undertake a task that you are excited about. In fact, you will agree with me that you look forward to doing something that you are excited about. I have come to realise that one of the reasons why some people do not accomplish something is because they see the task as a burden and not something that they love to do. Trust me, it is when you mix excitement and happiness with what you do that you will make a headway in it. This is because excitement brings about enthusiasm, which triggers passion.

I once listened to the interview of one of the world's greatest and renowned footballers who has won many titles and awards. He revealed that he always gets excited each time he is going to the field to either train or play. He has intense love for what he does and that is because he has become enthusiastic about it through his excitement. Whenever you see him play, you will feel the passion right within him and his performance are everywhere to show for it. He did not go into professional footballing simply because of the money but because he found passion in it and he is excited about playing.

He was further asked if he would still play football even if he is not receiving any payment again from it, to my surprise, he answered yes, and even went further to say that his life revolves around football and he is not leaving it anytime soon. This shows the level of excitement he achieves through doing what he loves to do. The truth is that there may be times when you may not see the immediate returns in what you are doing, or things may not even be moving as you had made your plans towards it. But with excitement in your mind about what you are doing, you will still have the motivation to keep doing what you are doing and putting in your best until you have achieved your required result.

While growing up, there was this particular television programme that we used to watch. What draw my attention to the programme was the host. Even the way he started the programme everyday with so much passion that you could feel the energy in him for the show. In a very short time, the programme became a household show that everyone would tune to their television even before the time to watch him start the programme. This announced him and gave him national recognition that he grew so much. For over a decade he kept on the show through "thick and thin." When he was asked what kept him all these years, he simply responded that he was excited about hosting the show.

There was a time, during one of my vacation jobs, that I got tired of a particular task. All attempts I made to go on with the task seemed like it took me further away from it. It got to a point that I had to talk to myself and I realized that the reason was that I did not get excited about the task nor the way it was done. When I got to find out what the problem was, I had to devise a way to go about the task in an entirely different way and created my own excitement out of it. Surprisingly, the task which looked like an uphill task before became so easy that I even had to teach others on how to do it. This was simply because I had to create something to pique my enthusiasm for the task.

When you create a dream or conceive an idea, you have to also make a conducive environment for you to fulfil it. When planning for it, you have to do it in a manner that will pique your enthusiasm. For example, if you have a goal of reading two books in a month, you can start by reading three chapters in a week. By the time you achieve it, you can reward yourself with a treat and celebrate your little win. With this, by the next attempt, you will have the zeal to even surpass the three-chapter mark and you can easily achieve your goal of two books in a month. You see, there will be enough excitement, mixed with enthusiasm to do even more. This happens in other aspects of life too. Excitement makes doing a task enjoyable.
