Your Family; Your Focus
There is nothing that you do for your family that will be too much because they are part of what give value to humanity and they create a sense of belonging. Of course, every single human is part of a family and what they do will also reflect in the community. If someone is bad, it will reflect in the family. If they are good, it will also reflect in their family. This is why you have to take adequate care of your family. If the family is gotten right, it will tell in the community. The reverse holds true for the opposite. This is why, there is a kind of character that someone will exhibit and the first thing you will imagine is "which kind of family are they from"? This shows the importance of family.

It is sad to see people focus their attention on something else and leave a very important part of their life - their family. What is the gain of sacrificing your family for something unworthy, something that will not even have your back when you need it the most? Of what value will it be to lose touch of your family for material things? The same family you are part of today, may be all you will have in the future, so value them. The value you place on your family will determine how you treat them, and it will also determine how they will treat you. Trust me, there are times that even your closest allies will leave you, but family will always stick around.
I once read a story sometimes back about a rich man who cared less about his family. All he was concerned about was money and networking. Someone who did not provide for his family, would host very lavishing parties just to draw the attention of people. The family lived so below par that you would question if they were really part of the man. It continued until the man developed a critical illness and all attempts to save him kept hitting "rock bottom." It got to the point that he had to be flown outside the country to a specialist hospital abroad. Of course it required a huge amount of money.
When he got there, it was discovered that he had liver problem and that he would need a live donor to donate part of their liver (a lobe) for him. Of course the liver is one in the human body, but a live donor can donate part of the whole and the remaining part would grow back. When he was given the diagnosis, no one was willing to donate for him among his friends, allies, colleagues, network contacts, and acquaintances. Even if he decided to be on the government's waiting list, the queue was so long that he would wait long to get to his turn. In fact, he was devastated and was watching his life slip by him. It was at that point that he remembered that his wife would have done this for him, but he was not nice to her.
Right in his critical condition, he made contact with his wife, even though he thought that she would be unwilling to help him, which is understandable. Yet, what she did shocked him. She agreed to donate to him. Tears rolled down his cheek because he knew he did not treat her well, yet she came to his rescue. Imagine if she had reciprocated the bad treatment she got, he would not have survived the illness, but she came through for him. All those people that he placed above his family all left him at his time of need, but his family stuck around with him - this is the blessings of family.

Always take good care of the people you called family. If not for today, but for tomorrow; they may be the only people you will have. Try to take out time to stay with them. You can even go on vacation with them, let them feel your impact around. All these little things matter a lot to the family members and create lasting memories. As you are going around your work and putting in time in your job, also create out time for your family. The truth is that the same work that you are sacrificing everything (including your family) for, will not be by you in your "trying moments," so you have to set your priorities aright and try to balance up everything.
You have to be proud of the family you belong to, and also do all you can to value them, so as to create a sense of belonging. Whatever you do, always know that family should occupy a top priority in your life and should not be traded for anything.
