No to violation of right to privacy

Greetings!

No matter what's going on in and around us, there's a right which must not be violated and that right is the right to a private life. If a right to our private life is being denied us anybody either by the government or our employers, then we should know that disaster is around the corner, so, to me, a right to our private life being it in the physical or on the social media must be upheld and preserved.

Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the weekly featured prompt in the Hive learners community which is all about. “School monitor.”

Well, to me it's not a bad thing for a school management to monitor the affairs of their students and staffs, but one thing is that, if they would do that to know what's going on in the mind of their students or staffs, they must not violate the right to privacy of their staffs and students.

So, if they have other means of doing this without violating the right to privacy of these people, then they can go ahead and monitor them. Well, to me this might be kind of difficult for the school management to do most especially when it comes to the social media monitoring without violating the right to privacy of their students and teachers as they would be required to take permission from the owners of the account, so, if the owner would not agree to him or her being monitored by the management of the school, they should just let it be like that without them taking any further steps of trying to know what's going on in the personal life of those that are under them.

However, if they feel like knowing what is going on in the personal life of their employee and their students they should make it written down in their policy as their terms and condition for admission and employment and by so doing, if anyone is willing to work with them or perhaps, if anyone is willing to be a student of that school, such person must know than he has no reason to go against their policy and whatever has to do with such a person must be forgotten by the person by him or herself.

But, if such policies are not put in place, it would be against the constitution of the land to violate the right to privacy of anyone who is related to the school in the name of monitoring the affairs of their subject on social media.

To, me there are other several ways through which the students and staff can be monitored, but this has to take place in the four wall of the school, the students performances can be monitored via exams and assignments thereby giving the management insights into how the students lives after school are being lived, same as the teachers too, their own performances in teaching the students in class plus their preparation of their lesson can also give us insights into what's going on in their lives.

In conclusion, to monitor the students and staffs is going but their right must not be violated, this monitoring of a thing must not be forced down on them, but with their consent, a lot can be monitored about them.

This is my entry to the week 225, episode 03 of the weekly featured contest in the Hive learners community.

Thanks for reading.
