The act of betrayal

Greetings!

Humans should always know that one day, he or she would be betrayed and if for now you have not been betrayed, then I would advise you to exercise patience as they person that will betray you is still warming up, it's just a matter of thing that you too will experience being betrayed, not even from that person that's far away from you, but from that person that is very close to you and it might be anyone. All I have to tell us is to wait for it as it would not tarry.

I never thought I would be betrayed in life as I have on so many occasions dispel the insinuations that everyone would be betrayed and that it's just a matter of time to take my own dose of the medicine of betrayal.

When Ayo came to me and asked,

“Sam, have you ever been betrayed?” “No, I haven't and I would never be betrayed as I have not had it in mind to betray anyone,” I replied.

After I told him this, he burst into laughter and said to me, it's just a matter of time, you will soon be betrayed. Although I didn't like what he told me, I decided not to say nor argue with him. Even when I didn't ask him to discuss what led him to telling me this, he took it upon himself to tell me how he was betrayed by his girlfriend, Hannah.

Ayo told me that Hannah, the girl she had been dating right from his secondary school days, had betrayed him with a wealthy man who she used to call her uncle. He said he had visited the man with Hannah and on so many of their visiting occasions, Hannah has always introduced the man to him as his uncle but not when the man was there. He went further and told me that Hannah never introduced him to the man as his boyfriend but as an ordinary course mate.

As if that was not enough, Ayo said that what he noticed was that both were always playing in a romantic way whenever they visited and that he had once cautioned her to caution her playing style with her so-called uncle which she promised him she would do.

Ayo said that, after years of their being together, what he saw was the wedding pictures of Hannah and her so-called uncle. He said,

“Sam, when I saw the picture, I couldn't believe my eyes as I was wondering how true this could be.”

He continued and said, “I was so disappointed in my foolishness and stupidity not to have known that these two were up to something.”

As he was telling me all these, I couldn't say a word as I was dumbfounded to this level of betrayal. He said that he tried reaching out to her on the phone, but that he had been barred by Hannah and that was the end of their relationship.

After Ayo had told me all these. I felt disappointed in Hannah and I tried to console him, but he told me he had moved on with his life.

So, ever since then, I was always conscious of who I would relate with as I didn't know what had happened to Ayo to also be my portion. I was conscious of the kind of girl that I would have a relationship with so as not to be like that of Ayo, but this time around it was another scenario entirely.

I was in my own case betrayed by a cousin of mine who hijacked my funded business from me. After I invited Adio, who had complained of doing nothing but sleeping at home, to come and join me in my supply business, he made sure he hijacked the business from me by contacting my customers from behind me, telling them he would do them well if they would patronize him.

He even dented my image and told them that what I used to supply them was not in tandem with the quantity and quality of the money I was collecting from them.

It's one of my loyal customers who he had earlier called that told me all these. When I heard this, I quickly placed a call to his cell phone and after he had answered the call, he at first denied the allegations, but after many confrontations, he alluded to the allegations and told me that he was tired of partnering with me.

He later left me and went on to do his own business on his own with him and have my customers with him. It's so disappointing as I have to start all over again and it's then that I remembered what Ayo told me that everyone would be betrayed at last.

Although he later apologized to me and I accepted his apology, that didn't restore me back to doing well in the business anymore.
