The influence of reality tv shows on the society

Greetings!

One thing that has corrupted our society in recent times is what people see on social media and on TV shows. The way people, most especially the celebrities in our society portrayed themselves has really affected the sanity of our society.

Although we have some of them that portrayed themselves in a moral way, the majority of them carried themselves just to corrupt the society.

Having said much about the influence of social media on the people and the society at large, I would like to delve into the topic proper which is about, “Reality Tv.”

To me, most of the reality TV shows that are being aired on our cables now are nowhere close to passing a moral message to the public and that's why sanity has eluded us in our society.

As a secondary school teacher, I have had full experience of the so-called reality show on my students, some of whom are misbehaving as a result of what they have seen or learnt via the reality TV show.

The way some of them now dress can be ascribed to what they see on these shows, as if that's not enough, some of them now engaged in immorality and whenever they're being caught, all they would say is that, all what they are doing is not being taught to them by their parents, but virtually by what they see on the Reality TV show.

So, in my entire life as a teacher, I can boldly differentiate between the time past, when the reality TV show has not taken over in our society, to now when it is the other day.

Back then, there's moderacy in the way people behave, the way they dress, relate and talk to one another. Our culture was supreme to everything being done back then, but now, the reverse is the case as our culture has been neglected and the lessons of the reality show are now the other day.

However, the lessons learnt from these reality shows are of no use to us. Although, it's not that everything they do in the reality show is bad, but most of the things being done are useless to me and my pity is for those who also allow their kids to watch along with them as this would surely corrupt their minds and memory if care is not taken.

The reason being that, what we see sometimes used to be accustomed to our brain and to take it out of our mind might be too difficult.

There's this one reality show in my country, “BBnaija.” This reality show to me should be banned as it has no good influence on the country. This type of a reality should have even come into existence at all and this is because of the kind of things which has immorality in it that the participants used to do, that's in my own opinion.

Although there's prices and rewards attached to it, this should not blindfold us from seeing the bad side of the show which might pollute the minds of those watching it.

In conclusion, Reality TV shows to me should be banned as the disadvantages are more than the advantages.
