Truth is, I don’t mind living in Nigeria so far I earn well as a Nigerian and what do i mean by earning well. I earn in $$$ like the way someone would earn outside the country.

That way one can just hire a police officer as escort and pay him monthly. Reason for this is because of those other tout police men on the road that comes by troubling the peace of citizens.

Truth is the bills in Nigeria is not as high as other countries abroad. Over there, you pay massively on taxes that takes up to 50% of how much you earn. But who really pays tax in Nigeria?

With so much wealth, one can choose to go abroad anytime he likes for vacation and come back to his mansion palace to cool himself.

Now, how does that sound like?

That's why many of our billionaires are living in banana Island.... But is Nigeria safe? Don't you know when you have money, you will value your life more!

(Edited)

Even a poor man values his life! Yeah with your money, you can be a target but yet how you use your money determines your safety.

By the way if I have money, I may not choose to live in banana island. I don't like Lagos mostly because of traffic wahala.

See, you can't hide forever once you have money, like very wealthy oo

One of our African adages says that smokes follow those who carry light🤩.

Becoming wealthy is not safe any longer due to kidnappers and co...you might be living in fear no matter the security men around you.

Smiles, nowhere is safe. Even outside the country, we have kidnappers, we have everything there. As much as they are in Nigeria, they are also abroad. Only God assures safety.

When I say how you use your money, if you use your money for the good of others than just showing off, you would have more people praying for you than the other way round

Well it sounds good anyways, but why going with escort 🤣, our Nigeria mentality of crypto right. Don't you think your peace of mind will be more guaranteed over there in abroad? My thought though however, I love Nigeria as my country, we are a great nation but my choice remains to become a visitor here🤣🤣

Actually, it's not crypto-wise... naturally having an escort would even prevent unnecessary stop and search. They would respect the man in uniform.

I tell people that security in Nigeria is bad but where exactly in the world is safe. Imagine kids loosing their life the other day to a teenager with guns abroad. So I don't know but I feel like with such amount of money I'll take the risk in Nigeria where there won't be taxes cutting off my income.

It is impossible to live like a king IN NIGERIA. At some point, you will realise that you have to leave this place. You will need health care or security and find yourself running away. It is inevitable

Truth is the bills in Nigeria is not as high as other countries abroad. Over there, you pay massively on taxes that takes up to 50% of how much you earn. But who really pays tax in Nigeria?

I know they pay bills like tomorrow no dey, but hope you also know they pay hourly.
It is almost impossible to see hourly payment in Nigeria
Even weekly is kinda hard.

While you are at little advantage is that you earn in $$ and it is increasing daily.
But if e convert to Naira e go still finish 🥺

0

True though talking about tax it a nice point of view
And we dey enjoy here wey some people no pay tax for their life. and dem never collect their properties
You can't try that in abroad.

When you earn all that and lay police and then the police officer you higher now organises your kidnap nko? 🥲

(Edited)

Hmm... For the first question I guess I would stick with living in Nigeria if I would get paid the same thing abroad, especially if it's a country like the US where before money enter your hand, all bills must be settled first.
Fo the second question, I will definitely go for the scholarship in fact I have high hopes that the one I applied for would click. I am pretty confident that after completing my degree I will land a high paying job abroad that will give me 30M in no time. My education is important to me and as we all know, ASUU isn't helping matters at all.
For the third question though, I am a bit uncertain haha, but I am more inclined to giving the coin flip a chance.
BTW I am new, I'd like a tag😊

Oh yes, the scholarship of a thing is just amazing. Of course, a good number of people are pushing for this kind of offer. Plus, the chance of securing a job while still studying 👍🤩

Yeah right. The chances of securing a job is far greater, especially if you're doing you post graduate program, but even as an undergraduate, at least you needn't bother about when next there would be a strike.

Hmm.. I can imagine the angle through which you've reasoned to have arrived at this. If it's what I think, you strongly do have a point. Besides there's nowhere like home. I too feel like I would never able to fully adapt to a new environment aside what I am accustomed to, but we take things as we see it and do what we have to do.

0

avatar

That's it ooo my bro.
I have checked over time and found out that with our recent predicament, Nigeria is still a date place to live in.
Despite the terrorist attacks, the nation has not turned upside down. Elsewhere, there would have been war. I mean, a full blown war.

You're right Sir, it would take more to topple the country over and we don't pray for that, plus Nigerians are natural "cruise catchers" lol. Truly we're a special breed.

Waahooo...what a question! It's an interesting one, however, human choices are different depending on the perspectives we approach an issue...now unto my choice

Hint: My dear country Nigeria is such an amazing country oo, no doubt buuuuttttt security is not guaranteed anymore in so many states, I weep for so many wasted lives because of this issue...what about our naira which has lost value🤔, whatever money I earn here in Nigeria will vanish with just little expenses. Anyways, my answers are below..

Living in Nigeria and working remotely. or traveling to work abroad? (Earning the same thing)

I will gladly choose to travel abroad to work there without thinking about it twice, remotely or not so far I earn in naira, the value doesn't make sense anymore!

30 million naira cash OR Full scholarship to study in the US or UK Or your favorite country?

I have wanted to travel abroad to further my studies as A Dental Technologist. Having this offer is just a prayer answered. People still study abroad, work, and earn at the same time. So 30M is not an option for me, I go Japa fast fast 🤩, grab the scholarship and hopefully secure a job over there too.

A 2M salary every month in Nigeria or a 50% coin flip on getting a good paying job in the US (salary not specified)

2M sounds big but considering today's economy and unending family responsibilities, my choice remains to grab the 50% coin flip on getting a good paying job in the US. Even though the salary is not specified, I am optimistic it will be something good enough to live comfortably over there, remember the land is greener their oo🤩🤩

This is my choice!!!!

Dear ma Las Las all your replies ends with Japa-ing. Great choices haha 🤣🤣

Nigeria Is God's Own Country!!

I accept it is hard to live in Nigeria. But that has created us to be a different species of human that exist in the globe. Nigerians are wired to take every challenge that comes their way headlong.

2 Million Monthly Salary

Wetin I dey find again?
Biko, give me two million every month as salary, I will live, eat and die here.
I may not survive the discrimination against the black race in the US. So, I will just go with the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know.
With that amount as salary, I bet you, I will be an employer of labour and also add to the Gross Domestic Product of this nation if I venture into farming and computer hardware.
That Nigeria will become the envy of nations of the world to me is not a lie, so I rather stay here to play my roles than to go elsewhere.

0

0.000

It not as if we are wired to take on challenges we are just enduring..
Nobody likes tough challenges and all Nigeria offers is tough one
What is that one thing we enjoy in this country?
Well I get your point fam
But sometimes it okay to find alternative moves and sometimes that alternative move is the answer

Ahhhh, good to be back

Living in Nigeria and working remotely or traveling to work abroad? (Earning the same thing o)

I will gladly stay back here and work. The fact that I earn the same amount is juicy enough. I don't want to pay them crazy taxes or worry about some Public shooter, or some dum gun laws. At least here I know what to and what not to do, and where to go and not to go. As much as I also gravitate towards "Japa" Part of me is and will always be patriotic. I will stay here and build.

30 million naira cash OR Full scholarship to study in the US or UK Or your favourite country?

I'm a big fun of knowledge. I'd pay anything to learn something, well not anything perse,😂😂 but I almost always pick knowledge over money. But this case, one has to be logical. There's no guarantee of employment after scholarship, so I would take the 30mill, school myself I'm Stanford or somewhere on a course I love, and still have millions left.

A 2M salary every month in Nigeria or 50% coin flip on getting a good paying job in the US (salary not specified)

I am black, I'm African, but most importantly, I'm Nigerian. Immigrating won't change that. Please give me my 2milli every month jejely let me lead a simple life.

Get a car or two, build a small house somewhere in a private estate, put a share for my family, and get an early retirement while checking items of my bucket list 😌

Okay that's fucking crazy tho 😂😂😂. I guess that's why it's hypothetical. This things just challenges the primal nature of man and the order of existence 🤣

Great choices. Same as mine, although I'm browsing to see if anyone will choose abroad over Nigeria in this context

0

avatar

Okay.
So this is actually my first time joining this weekend engagement here in hive naija community. Honestly I do not know this happens here on weekends. Maybe I didn't browse through the community well enough to know. And please I'll like to be tagged to the future questions on the weekend engagements.

So straight to the question. I'm gonna answer all three.

Living in Nigeria and working remotely or traveling to work abroad? (Earning the same thing o).

At first I thought this question was tricky until I read the part you get to earn the same thing. Nwanne, if that is the case I will gladly work in Nigeria. Note we weren't told the particular abroad it will be. Believe me Benin Republic is still abroad, Ghana is still abroad. In a situation it turns out to be the European countries. I'll still choose to work here. Why because the bills to pay over there are crazy once your pay drops. Not only that, why struggle to be king in a foreign land when I can be king in my father's land, helping my people the little way I can. Then travel abroad just to enjoy my money. Either way I'll choose here, until the earnings differ. Then we can sign a new contract.

30 million naira cash OR Full scholarship to study in the US or UK Or your favourite country?

Look, nwanne this question needs no waste of time or thinking. Bunyem the money first later we'll discuss the scholarship. I'm taking the 30 million and investing it in profitable businesses. Make my gains and enroll in a university here. Now don't come asking what if the business fails. Because you never know if your tomorrow is guaranteed if you choose a scholarship. Wait sef, what if the person in charge of the scholarship dies or has a change of mind tomorrow.
Please, let's sign for the money then I'll bid you farewell. Nmadu agaghi ano ndu, ncha abanye ya n'anya.

A 2M salary every month in Nigeria or 50% coin flip on getting a good paying job in the US (salary not specified)

Tricky question, very tricky. But a bird at hand is better. I'm taking the 2M monthly. That one is guaranteed. Besides from the question it didn't specify if I'm gonna be working to be placed in the 2M salary. So that means there might not be any work involved. Now I have time to do other stuff, engage in other businesses. Whereas I might pick the other one and I get nothing nada. Even if I get something, I get to work because it was specified there.

Choices are different. What may be good for the goose might be bad for the gander. But the above answers are my choices.

Let be frank with each other living in abroad actually comes with a lot of positive benefits unlike Nigerian

Citizens benefits unlike in Nigeria that we are deprived of
Even with earning the same amount
I'd still prefer living in abroad all because of the citizens privilege.

And for the second question
Oh I might actually go for money here to skip the stress of going through school stress
Don't mind me..i don't like stress.

for the third one since salary is not specified I would go for 2m salary every month in Nigeria.
2m every month wound be so nice to live a fulfilling life in Nigeria

Only the fact of Asuu strike in terms of education is enough reason leaving here. My friends that are there are done me and struggling with 5 years course for 7 years
They might have crises over there no doubt. Even our government still have houses and properties there meaning sef dem no value their country

You can easily live comfortable with loan without struggling even having cars all that is need is you have a job
You get allowance when you get to certain age.

And for the second question
Oh I might actually go for money here to skip the stress of going through school stress
Don't mind me..i don't like stress.

Lol, man no wan stress e head
But education there is not hard oo, unlike the stress they give us here and the time wasting.
Also studying there and coming back here is an added advantage.
They value your certificate. I have seen people

I'm In total Support of everything you have said...

The major aim of going to another country (apart from the fact that you wanna change environment) is to make money, and so If i can make that money in my country, there is no reason why I should leave it for another.

And just as @mrenglish64 has said, I'll only prefer to go out there for vacation..

Imagine earning 2M per month, MY GOD I won't take it easy, you'll envy my country I promise you...

Living in Nigeria and working remotely or traveling to work abroad? (Earning the same thing o?

Please give me abroad jeje... I know every country have their own bad hard and hardship, tasks and racism, in some Country.
But Nigeria is just making this thing hard, prices of everything increase, but salary remains the same, dollar increases. Yeah they pay taxes over there, no doubt, but omo na there sure o.

30 million naira cash OR Full scholarship to study in the US or UK Or your favourite country?

Scholarship please, i know the money is a lot to start a business or something but i notice that when a person studies abroad and comes back they value the person certificate (from experience)
So there probably, i can be working and schooling too.

A 2M salary every month in Nigeria or 50% coin flip on getting a good paying job in the US (salary not specified)

I will still go there oo...lol
