Summary Of The Weekend Engagement

The 6th hive-naija weekend engagement kicked off on friday(January 7th,2022) and ended on Sunday(January 9th,2022) 11:59pm (GMT+1). It was an interesting chat as we gather together for the sixth week running to gist and chat together as a family

The topic was "MONEY & RELATIONSHIPS".
It was and interesting topic as we discussed some questions about how money influences dating,marriage,and sexual relationships in general and as usual we made fun out of it and broke out again as the top performing post on the Blockchain as we had about 267+ Comments. The recognition award came from @hivebuzz .

Hmmm, I noticed that this topic brought alot of Hivenaija ladies out. Kind of like a women support women thing lol.

I think this was one of the most entertaining weekend so far!

From @monica-ene telling us how intimidating women are to @wolfofnostreet giving straight blunt answers to @merit.ahama joking with everyone comment alongside @khaleesii. The men tried to speak but i guess their voice were so low that i couldn't hear them.

Anyway, I bring to you some warm and funny replies from the engagement.

Who should pay for the first date?

There're alot of arguments saying the one who initiates the idea should be the one to pay. But I'm of a totally different opinion.
As a man of culture I believe it's the man's responsibility to handle the bills on the very first date. At least, I can't see myself on a first date & letting the lady pay.
If she's seriously insisting to do it then I can settle for splitting. Nothing less.

Mostly the guy should pay the bills on the first but it doesn't really matter whoever pays the bills but if it's the guys idea then the bill should be on him.

But about this topic eh, I do not understand why our Nigeria ladies make it a big factor, making the innocent boy/man involved enter street and do the most just to impress the lady. Money is essential but if little things like he has to pay the bills and earn higher becomes priority then there is a problem.
What happened to growing rich together, starting from the scratch together and supporting each other to the top?
Too much pressure in this generation for money and it is crazy.
Most ladies do not even care where the money is coming from sha they want the sweetest things of life... Really sad o
