Свети Сава - Saint Sava (From royal crown to monk's robes)

Hi hivers!
Today I painted Saint Sava. 😄

Sava was born a prince, and was supposed to inherit his father's crown, but he was not like other children. He loved books, talking with workers and monks. He helped everyone and was humble even though he was of noble birth. At the age of 17, he left the court and secretly went to Mount Athos to become a monk. He did a lot for his people, opened hospitals and schools. He also became the first Serbian archbishop, reconciled his brothers and thus stopped the war.

In this picture, Saint Sava is with the children, reading all kinds of stories to them. Behind is a large and beautiful temple dedicated to Saint Sava, located in Belgrade. And the message that says "Stay in exploits for the good!" which was spoken by Saint Sava.
