Hello hivers!
Today I am sharing another icon with you.
Saints Faith, Hope, and Charity with their mother Sophia are represented on the icon.
The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates it on Septembar 17 according to the old calendar, or Septembar 30 according to the new calendar.

Sofia was a widow and raised her daughters Faith, who was 12 years old, Hope 10, and Charity 9 years old, alone in Rome.

During the time of Emperor Hadrian, Sophia and her daughters were captured and brought before the emperor.

One by one, the torturers tortured everyone with terrible torments, first Faith, then Hope, then Charity.
They subjected them to terrible torture and finally cut them one by one with a sword

Sofia took the dead bodies of her daughters outside the city and buried them there. She stayed at their grave for three days and three nights praying to God, and in that she surrendered her spirit to God, hurrying to the heavenly settlements, where the blessed souls of her famous daughters were waiting for her.
