We usually love to eat non-beg each Sunday and do get together.
Here I am sharing mutton recipe which we made on chulha.

The curry is so delicious that we enjoy to taste even when it is top hot

Ingredients:

  • 500g raw mutton, chopped into pieces
  • 200g mutton liver, chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (curd)
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Step by step guide

  1. Heat oil in a large pot or pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add chopped mutton and liver pieces. Stir and cook for 5-7 minutes until the meat is well coated with the masala.
  7. Pour in the yogurt and mix thoroughly. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Add enough water to cover the mutton pieces. If using a pressure cooker, close the lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the meat is tender. If using a pot, cover and simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender.
  9. Once the meat is cooked, sprinkle garam masala powder and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
