Happy Dusherra 2026
Wish you and your family a Happy Dusherra - Celebration is the ultimate way to keep negativity away

As I wrote in my last post, Dussehra is fundamentally a celebration of the triumph of positive over negative energies. But have you ever paused to think about why we actively need these grand celebrations?

It boils down to a simple truth: Celebrations elevate our mood and take our mental state to the next level. If you sit alone inside your home for days on end without any activity, interaction, or festivity, negative energies quietly start creeping in. It aligns perfectly with the old saying, "An idle brain is an evil brain." By keeping our minds actively engaged in communal celebrations, we actively generate vibrant, positive energy. Frankly, it is the only true way to triumph over the persistent negative things in life.

If you travel across India, you will witness countless happy faces everywhere - even among people who may not be wealthy or have many material possessions. Have you ever wondered why? It is because celebrations are deeply embedded in our culture and traditions. Our calendar is structured so beautiful that we have a festival almost every alternate week. People don't just observe them; they actively participate with full hearts. Dussehra stands out as one of our biggest festivals, spanning over ten spectacular days. It completely shifts the atmosphere, ushering in a warm, festive mood right as the winter chill begins to set in.

To soak in the spirit, we recently visited some of the local festival pandals nearby. The sheer scale is mind-blowing !!! Communities and organizers spend massive amounts of money to bring these structures to life. Yet, what we see locally is just a tiny glimpse. In some other places, celebrations are taken to an unimaginable level, featuring pandal decorations sculpted entirely out of real silver and gold. While it sounds extravagant, it is their way of channeling bright, radiant, and victorious energies into our lives. May be I will try to show it to you next year.

Every evening, you can see live music nights, traditional dance performances, and drama skits being organized right next to the pandals. Local artists and musicians get a grand platform, and the entire neighborhood gathers around to enjoy the melodies and rhythm, which adds another layer of joy to the festive spirit.

Here are the photos of another pandal that the boy and me managed to visit today, having its own unique theme and beautiful craftsmanship.

And this year our celebration was extended with some more happy moments - we had a Dandia night celebrated in our apartment society. Though there were few ladies, but they did celebrate it to the fullest, my wife joined them and did enjoy the evening, and we as a family joined to encourage her and other participants and capture some beautiful moments.

And then Red FM also came to our society celebrating the Puja on wheels event - more to come on those....

Greetings bro and happy Tuesday to you and your family. Blessings 😊🫶🙏
Happy Dussehra! Yes, that’s so true! When we stay at home without anything to do, we tend to overthink and sometimes fill our minds with negative thoughts. But when we attend festivals and participate in community activities, we become more focused on what’s happening around us and get to enjoy the moment. Being involved in activities like these really helps us stay positive and feel more connected to the community. I hope I can visit India someday and experience a beautiful celebration like this in person. It would be such a wonderful experience to witness the culture, traditions, and happines. It’s good to know that you have activities every other week. That’s really nice! It gives everyone something to look forward to and a chance to connect with other people in the community while enjoying different activities together.
Whenever there's a celebration, there are so many things to look forward to, which keeps you busy and excited. Being part of the celebration brings excitement, and that excitement brings happiness. When people are happy, positive feelings can outweigh the negative ones. I really like your Dusherra celebration! We have many festivals here, but we don't have anything like that.
Happy Dusherra!!
This is a wonderful way to worship—it helps wash away all the burdens and grievances held within your heart. Happy Dushera!
