Hello there needleworkers! This is my entry for the barbie contest! Her arms were already missing when I dug up into Antonia's toy box. The good ones were already given to the charity during our church's outreach program
Well, she's now in Grade VI and she has stopped dreaming about those fairytale outfits and those trendy Barbie dolls.
Anyways, let's just think that it's a Barbie maniquin! Lol!

I thought of making a backless blouse and skirt for the purpose.

This kind of outfit is a casual attire that even normal people would love to wear.

Materials needed:

• #20 mercerized crocheting thread.

Colors:
Yellow
Black with gold strand.

First, I measured the waistline of Ms. Barbie, using double chain in straight line up four layers or below the chest. Continue with the chains up to the center then proceed to the next layer

The same goes with the next patch up to the lower armpit line. Apply 8 chain counts making six strings. The same goes with the other patch. After closing the six strings, count at least 50 chains for the back ties.

I added four loops on each side of the edging where I can insert and adjust the strings in order to fit the backside.

That's the black skirt with front slit.

I used black thread for the waistband for a more fashionable look before applying the mixed black and gold thread. I applied another layer of pure black, which created the sensual look of the skirt, then I proceeded with the mixed color. Black will look great for the edging too.

A wedge sandal with a Judas Escariot inspired straps will complete the trendy outfit of Ms. Barbie.

This is all for now guys, I hope that Ms. Barbie will bring home the bacon!

Thanking @crosheille for this exciting contest, along with @muscara, @shanibeer, @marblely and @neumannsalva.

Keep safe everyone!

Till then,

What a trendy outfit - suitable for a lot of occasions. The black-gold yarn makes the skirt look really festive and I love the little beads/sequins on the backless top :)

The shoes!!! So wonderful. I love that you used straps on the top and repeated this design element on the tiny shoes (i really love them) You made such a wonderful and trendy outfit with the bold neon color and the more luxurious black skirt. With this outfit Barbie will not miss her arms (I had to smile about this detail)
Thank you so much for your entry <3

Thank you for such an appreciation dear. I used to wear those stuffs during my younger days too!:) Well yeah, I would have bought a new one but those years that she had been part of Antonia's childhood made those memories priceless. And of course, Granny me played her part too. I am guilty as accused, that grannies tend to spoil their grandkids! Lol!

I love to see how beautiful projects can be created from a thread. This set is gorgeous, I loved the detail of the open skirt in the front. This Barbie mannequin looks great. ❤️

I love the SKIRT of your Barbie, Sis. Sophisticated look. Girls do love parties and they also like their outfits to be trendy and your Barbie Doll represented it so well. Good luck with the contest
