Hello, there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

The Escalation mini-set has been in the game for a while now and is currently working its way to become a vital part of the game's meta, all along with the new abilities that they have that bring new card synergies and unseen strategies. But Escalation was not done yet because we are yet to have all the legendary Archons that will be airdropped through conflicts.

But just a few days ago, Ghezira, the Earth Escalation Archon, has finally entered the battlefield of Praetoria, and a day from now, the conflicts for the third Escalation Archon will finally start. So before that, I want to take a look at this upcoming Archon and what it can possibly bring to the game.

Escalation Third Conflict Archon

The third Escalation Conflicts will start on July 25, 2026, so that will be only about a day remaining as of the writing of this post. For this next Archon, it will be designed with the output from the game's current CEO, Dave McCoy, who owns the thebadwitch account that holds the no. 4 spot on the Escalation's presale leaderboard.

Just like the first and second conflict, the third Escalation conflict will last for 30 days, where players will stake their Escalation packs and cards on Mage wagons. And after the 30-day period, they will receive airdrop copies of the Archon, based on the total points they have accumulated, though the number of Archons a player can receive can also vary based on luck.

Just like the previous Conflicts, players will be able to stake up to 5 cards and 100 packs into the wagon, but just as I say, they will only be available for Escalation. The points that each Wagon can produce will depend on the rarity and foil type of the card, based on its collection power, aside from Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane cards that will x.6 of its collection power. Meanwhile, each pack will give 125 points.

TypePoints Value
Regular FoilCollection power = Points
Gold Foil / Gold Foil ArcaneCollection power = Points
Black Foil / Black Foil ArcaneCollection power x .6 = Points

Wagon Crating

Based on the original announcement post, there are two ways to get a wagon. The easiest way is to directly purchase it through DEC or Credits. Currently, the cheapest Wagon kit on the market costs 4,012.216 DEC.

While the cheaper option is to craft the Wagon kits using land resources in the Artisan quarter, given that you already own these resources or produce them on your land. Currently, the crafting cost of a wagon requires 17,500 Wood, 7,000 Stone, 1,750 Iron, and 1,250 Aura, which, if we convert to DEC, will cost 2766.80 DEC, and you need two of them to build a new Wagon, but only 1 if you are just repairing a broken Wagon.

Third Conflict Archon: Grimdave The Unbent

NameGrimdave The Unbent
Card TypeArchon
EditionEscalation
RarityLegendary
Mana Cost3
Element02-Water.png Water
Bloodline Dominion*Treefolk
TacticInciendary x 2

So, for the next Escalation Conflict, we have the Water Archon Grimdave the Unbent, which has a mana cost of 3. For its ability, it can give the Incendiary debilitation on up to two units that causes the unit to get Burning, where it has a 33% chance to spread to adjacent units, and this causes them to lose 2 health for each passing turn. Usually you will place this upon your opponent's units, but you can also benefit from it if used among units that have either Painforge, which increases the attack of the cards when they get damage from Burning, or Flame Fed, which will instead increase the unit's health by +1 each turn.

As for its Bloodline Dominion, it can summon units with the Treefolk Bloodline, regardless of their elements, and currently, there are four units with the same bloodline in modern when it comes to Rebellion and Conclave Arcana.

And if you look particularly at Taark Nightbloom and Lorn, both of these cards have abilities that would allow them to benefit if they got the Incendiary debilitation.

But aside from that, there will be 6 units with the Shapeshift ability that can also be summoned through this Archon, for a total of 11 units.

To get a guaranteed copy of Grimdave the Unbent, a player will need a minimum of 375 entries, with each entry requiring a total of 100,000 points, and each entry also giving a 0.266667% chance to receive the Conflict card. Meanwhile, for the premium card foils, they can be obtained through the Leaderboard and Foil Draw systems.

Closing

Looking at the next Archon, it can potentially bring a huge advantage during Little League or low mana battles where most units will have low health, as the Burning will melt on their health, but the Archon can also help to push some demands of Taark Nightbloom, which is the newest legendary Voucher card available in the Voucher Shop.

Thank you, and see you on the next post!
