Hello, there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

The Escalation mini-set has been playable in the game for about two months, bringing forth new strategies and powerful synergies that continue to shake the game's meta, as well as adding more complexity to the game. So far, many of the cards in the mini-set have proven that having them will help to dominate the battlefield, particularly with the new additional abilities that were introduced along with them. And now, the time has arrived for the start of the Escalation Conflicts that will introduce brand-new Archons into the game.

Escalation Conflicts

The Escalation Conflicts will start on May 19, 2026, so that will be about 5 days, as per the writing of this post, and will introduce 6 new Archons that were designed with inputs coming from the top 6 players who purchased the most packs during the presale of the mini-set, which were:

Each Conflict will last for 30 days, where players will need to stake their Escalation cards or packs into Mage Wagons to earn chances at winning Mini-Set Archons, and after 30 days, players will receive an airdrop of the Archon based on the total points that they have accumulated, though through RNG, the chance that a player gets more copies of the card can increase. However, unlike Conclave Arcana, which includes Rebellion set in Wagons with half of their CP to earn points, Escalation Conflicts only allows Escalation packs and cards to be staked in the Mage Wagons, and building a Wagon now requires 2 Wagon Kits, although repairing a broken wagon requires only 1 Wagon Kit.

Just like the previous Conflicts, players will be able to stake up to 5 cards and 100 packs into the wagon, but just as I say, they will only be available for Escalation. The points that each Wagon can produce will depend on the rarity and foil type of the card, based on its collection power, aside from Black Foil cards that will x.6 of its collection power. Meanwhile, each pack will give 125 points.

TypePoint Value
Regular FoilCollection power = Points
Gold Foil / GFACollection power = Points
Black Foil / BFACollection power x .6 = Points

Wagon Crating

Based on the original announcement post, there are two ways to get a wagon. The easiest way will be to directly purchase it through DEC or Credits, while it will be cheaper if you craft it using land resources in the Artisan quarter, given that you already own these resources, or produce them on your land. Currently, the crafting cost of a wagon requires 17,500 Wood, 7,000 Stone, 1,750 Iron, and 1,250 Aura, which, if we convert to DEC, will cost 2390.38 DEC, and you need two of them.

First Conflict Archon: MEREDROOL

NameMeredrool
Card TypeArchon
EditionEscalation
RarityLegendary
Mana Cost3
ElementFire
Bloodline Dominion*Divine Construct
TacticRelentless Strike x 2

So, for the first Escalation Conflict, we have the Fire Archon Meredrool, which has a mana cost of 3, and I'm assuming that it will be the mana cost for the other upcoming Archons. for its ability, it can give the Relentless Strike debilitation on up to units, which can be either from your team or the opponent's, and for its Bloodline Dominion, it can summon units with the Divine Construct Bloodline, regardless of their elements. Currently, there are three units with the same bloodline in modern.

But aside from that, there will be 6 units with the Shapeshift ability that can also be summoned through this Archon, for a total of 9 units in total.

To get a guaranteed copy of Meredrool, a player will need a minimum of 325 entries, with each entry requiring a total of 100,000 points, with each entry also giving a 0.00307692% chance to receive the Conflict card

Closing

While generally, it is the same Conflict Mechanics for an airdrop of the card, there are some aspects of it that differ from the previous conflicts, such as the points that will be given by black foil cards, and the wagon costs and repair requirements. Looking at the Archon stats and capabilities, it's clear that it's not as strong as the Conclave Arcana Conflict Archons, but I think it's fine since it was Archons from the mini-set that require fewer packs to compete, but certainly, they can have their niche use case that will be soon discovered when this card is finally able to be used in battles.
