The Splinterlands Trading Hall Is Up
Yesterday, when I was checking on the weekly game updates on Discord, I saw a new feature that was added to the game. It is called the Trading Hall, and this allows players to directly trade items to other players. With this, players who may not have any liquid tokens in their account but were eyeing on a certain item, whether it be a card or a land plot, have the option of offering their other assets to get their hands on the item, much similar to the Barter System. There is a small fee when creating an offer, but it is much cheaper compared to buying an item through the Secondary Market.
In this post, I will walk you through how to make trade offers in the Trading Hall, since there is not yet an Academy panel for the new feature.

Making Offers In The Trading Hall
To find the Trading Hall, you can click on the Items tab in the navigation, and among the list, click on the Trade Offers that will transfer you to the Trading Hall page.

To create a trade offer, click on the Create Offer button at the top right corner of the page. Do note, though, that before the player you want to offer a trade to can accept the offer, they will need to first have their Allowed Trade Offers enabled. Otherwise, any trade offers you make will not make it through.

To enable it, there is a button you can toggle on the Trade Hall page, and alternatively, you can also turn it on in the General Settings.

Now that the player you want to offer a trade to can accept the offer, you can now proceed on creating a trade offer by entering their IGN in the recipient field. There is a 10 DEC fee that will be charged when the offer is created, and it is non-refundable even when the offer is cancelled, declined, or expires. But when you compare it to the secondary market, which has a 1 DEC listing fee 4% market fee when the item is sold, doing trade was still much cheaper.

After selecting the player that you want to make an offer to, you can now proceed to do the trade by selecting which assets you want to offer in exchange for the item that you want. In my example, I offer 3 cards to be traded for 12 common unbinding scrolls, but aside from this, you can also trade any asset, so long as it is not soulbound to your account.
Just make sure that you send the player an offer that they will find difficult to refuse because the trade offer will only last for 7 days.

After you finish making your offer, it will move to My Sent Offers. Here you can choose to view or cancel the offer that you made, but you cannot edit it.

Meanwhile, the player who was sent a trade offer will get a trade offer notification, but if you fail to check on the notif, you can go to the Trading Hall and check on the Received Offers

If you think that you received a good offer, then you can proceed to accept the offer. Otherwise, you can decline it or ignore the offer until it expires by itself.

Closing
With the new Trading Hall up, players will now have another option for how to trade their assets, and in a much cheaper way. It also removes the risk that players can experience when they get scammed trading items P2P or the difficulty of contacting other players for P2P trade, since not everyone is active on their socials or in Discord. If I had to add something, maybe follow it up with some form of limited chat to just notify players that you want to do a trade, since accepting offers was disabled by default.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
